Today I am thrilled to spotlight on the amazing Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, one of my favourite places to stay and a fabulous Dundee Wedding Venue.
Perfectly placed in Dundee’s picturesque City Quay area, close to Dundee Airport and Railway Station, the Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa is a contemporary hotel in Dundee, located Quayside near City Centre, Dundee University, and the future home of the V&A Museum of Design.
It features 151 stylish rooms, Metro Bar and Brasserie, conference facilities and a luxurious Yu Spa leisure centre with gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hot tubs and relaxing spa treatment rooms.
With stunning views over the Quay and River Tay, the hotel is within easy reach of the city centre shops and attractions.
I recently stayed in the hotel for the 4th time on the October break with my family and by chance they were holding a Wedding Fair which allowed me to see the facilities it offers for Weddings.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the backdrop to your Wedding breakfast will be idyllic views over the Quay.
They have the space and facilities to make your day special, whether you’re thinking small and intimate or large and spectacular.
With eight suites to choose from and a private dining room, Apex hotels can cater for any size or preference, from a small intimate gathering to a large grand wedding.
The City Quay Suite is the largest suite in the hotel and can hold up to 320 people for your Wedding breakfast, and was designed for lavish weddings. The large space can host dinners and receptions or be split into two smaller spaces.
The City Suite can host wedding breakfasts and receptions with space for a dance floor.
The Quay Suite can be used as reception space with its own bar or as a breakout space between breakfast and reception.
The Art gallery Suite is perfect for parties of up to 72 people (for evening reception).
It has lots of open space and natural daylight from the large windows that surround the room.
For small intimate receptions there are five mezzanine rooms and a private dining room.
The Hotel is an approved venue for civil weddings and partnerships.
To relax and prepare yourself for the big day, take time out in the Yu Spa with their Elemis treatment rooms, ozone pool, wooden hot tubs, sauna and steam rooms.
If you feel more energetic then try out the wellness gym with the very latest state of the art technogym equipment.
I love this space in the hotel, it has such a pleasant ambience and is great for both adults and families.
The special touches like a towel provided in your locker and utterly gorgeous Elemis toiletries just add to a relaxing time.
While I’m not a gym bunny my husband has used the gym faclities and loved it for a brisk workout.
As a Wedding guest you will find rooms spacious and comfortable with lovely views and epic sunrises.
Each room and suite at Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa features ample natural light through floor to ceiling windows, contemporary design touches and a view of City Quay or river Tay.
Intuitively arranged and outfitted with complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and 42-inch LCD TVs, rooms and suites provide a relaxing place to unplug and relax or to stay connected and get to work.
The fact that they go the extra mile whether its a little bag of tablet to a lovely welcome card, chocolates for special occasions, and as standard you get to take your own little rubber duck home, we LOVE those.
The Metro Bar and Brasserie serves International dishes in an inspiring space overlooking Dundee City Quay.
The restaurant’s menus pay homage to Scotland’s rich culinary tradition, but many items draw inspiration from locations around the globe.
Traces of Italian, French and even South American cuisine appear at Apex City Quay’s restaurant in Dundee.
The Metro Bar and Brasserie space features high ceilings, large windows, and a separate bar area that serves delicious bar food during the day.
The restaurant operates from breakfast through dinner, pausing for Afternoon Tea service.
The food is wonderful, with great breakfasts whether cooked or continental and their porridge is the stuff of legends
Having a comfy seat in the bar area is always fun to watch the world go by and my husband personally thinks that they do one of the best lattes he has ever had.
I for one can’t wait to return to this amazing place with a lovely Scottish welcome, and I wholeheartedly recommend it whether you just want a relaxing weekend away just as two or whether you want a great family break or are considering it for your Dundee Wedding Venue.
