Today I wish to share some advice on choosing your Wedding Transport.
Whether its a limo, a Vintage car, a carriage or something more quirky, the way you get to your Wedding , is a matter of choice.
In the past it’s been traditional for the Bride to arrive in a car or a carriage, bedecked with flowers and ribbon, but these days there are many options for the modern bride to arrive in style.
A carriage can look amazing, and be incredibly romantic, and can encompass the princess fantasy that the Bride has had since they were little, but it can turn out to be a little less practical if the weather takes a turn for the worse. Check with the hire company if they have a covered version.
There are many choices of Wedding car, Daimlers, Mercedes, Beauforts, Rolls Royce etc. All are incredible, and incredibly stylish, but it all comes down to personal taste.
There are also fun options like Taxi Cabs, 1950’s style american cars, and campervans, even a helicopter!
Whatever kind of transport you choose, make sure you take into consideration whether it is roomy enough to accomodate your dress.
Its important to book your Wedding transport early, cars, especially rare ones that can be reserved well in advance.
When booking, some considerations should be made –
How long will you have the car ?
Most drivers arrive about 30 minutes prior to the Bride leaving their home, and after the ceremony, the car usually waits to take the newly married couple to the reception.
What about the Extra’s ?
With regard to extra’s these are usually colour co-ordinated flowers, and ribbon adornment.
What about the price ?
With regards to price, some companies charge a set package price, but some also charge an hourly fee.
How will the driver be dressed ?
Will he be in some sort of uniform, and if not how smart will he be ?
It is also imperative that you go, and actually see each car, photographs sometimes just aren’t enough.
Look at a few, try them out , see how they feel, how much room they have, and close your eyes and imagine sitting in it on your Wedding Day.
Remember if it is a vintage car that you choose, that they are quite old and their is the possibility of breakdown. Make sure you choose a company that has a back up car.
As well as choosing transport for yourself, it is probable that you will need to arrange transport for other family members. Sometimes you may be able to secure a better monetary deal for multiple hire.
Many companies today also hire buses and mini bus for guest transportation too.
Another money saving idea is for someone you know who has a vintage, quirky or cool sports car to drive you to your ceremony. This can act as a Wedding gift from them, and adds a more personal touch to proceedings too.
Whatever mode of transport you choose, you will be sure to arrive in style !
