Today I am thrilled to share this fabulous Guest Post from Blog Sponsors Moonrise Lingerie on how to choose the perfect Bridal Petticoat to suit your Wedding Dress.

I hand over to the lovely Tanya Hall to share her wisdom.

There’s no doubt that more often than not, that as a bride your wedding gown is probably one of the most expensive outfits you’ll end up wearing, so it’s no wonder why you want to look picture perfect!

Now, as beautiful a look as your dress makes on its own, it’s important to remember just how much of a difference and impact can be made by wearing well chosen & fitted wedding lingerie along with that perfect gown.

As well as a little underwear and a few accessories, certain wedding gown styles such as A-line and princess gowns often need an appropriate bridal petticoat to help keep their form and shape as well as give extra body.

Often a petticoat is just a petticoat and it’s fairly straight forward, but when it comes to creating that perfect look for your wedding day there’s a bridal petticoat for every look and every dress!

Do you need a single layer, 3 layers or the whole 13 layers to your wedding underskirt?

Do you need a bridal hoop? Plastic or steel hoop?

Wedding Petticoat – Style 190

Well suited to mermaid or column style wedding gowns, the petticoat doesn’t open out until just above the knee, allowing the dress to hang naturally before adding volume to the lower skirt.

A subtle effect but makes a big difference to the look of your dress.

Bridal Petticoat – Style 172

This petticoat is flat fronted and has a fully flared back, using 3 layers of material to add volume.

As you’d expect this style of wedding petticoat is recommended for bridal gowns with a train at the back, the extra volume gives some support to the train and stops it falling straight to the floor.

Wedding Underskirt – Style 185

A wedding petticoat for the very fullest of wedding gowns, with 13 layers of tiered net from 2” – 3” wide each, this adds real volume to the fairytale princess style dresses.

I hope that’s helped a few brides to be out there when it comes to choosing the right petticoat for their wedding dress.

To help a little more Moonrise Lingerie will give every bride that buys a bridal petticoat from us a FREE £10 voucher towards the rest of their bridal lingerie.
