Today I want to explore the most romantic cities and places to propose in style.
You have bought the ring and decided to pop the question but you want it to be special so you decide to book a weekend away to ask the question – but how do you choose the ideal destination?
Natalie Fairbairn of Top Hats and Tiaras has scoured the globe and here are some top locations she feels are the essence of romance….
It may come across as cliché to propose in Paris however there is a reason it’s called the city of love.
Start the romance with a glass of champagne on the Eurostar.
Once you arrive take a stroll around the quaint streets enjoy a coffee in a road side café and watch the world go by.
Then take a ride to the top of the Eiffel tower and ask your partner to spend the rest of their life with you by going down on one knee as evening sets in and the tower is lit up against the night sky.
Amsterdam is beautiful any time of year so is the best option for an all year-round proposal.
The bridges that lead over the intricate network of canals are all ornate and a work of art so you have plenty to choose from to use to ask the all-important question.
After a stroll over the beautiful bridges, even maybe be taken by the moment and propose on one of the bridges and then work your way into the heart of Amsterdam,
The Leidseplein Square where the nightlife is always busy with its bars, and restaurants so the perfect place to celebrate after your partner say’s yes.
One of the latest trends is to propose in a venue or public place that isn’t viewed as traditional and one of the best ones in my eyes is an Aquarium.
Place the ring in an oyster shell, have kiss the girl from the little mermaid playing in the background or even hire an aquarium employee to dive into the tank behind you with a sign asking your partner to marry you
This would indeed work in any Aquarium around the world.
There are so many places that are beautiful on this Island I could not whittle it down to one.
Consider a private flight over Kauai, a walk through the lavender fields of Maui or sipping wine in the vineyards at the bottom of a volcano on the main island, the options are endless.
OK, the big kid in me would have loved to have been proposed to in front of Cinderella castle in the middle of Disneyland.
If your fiancée to be is a romantic at heart and believes she has found her Prince Charming then where else is a better place to go down on one knee and ask her to live happily ever after with you?
I hope you have found inspiration from this as it has made me want to be proposed to again and again just to have that feeling again but in a different location each time.
Asking somebody to marry you is the most important question you will ever pose, and will surely be a moment that both of you will remember for the rest of your lives.
The proposal doesn’t need to be particularly poetic — you just need to speak from the heart.
It is all about gauging what your partner likes best and this small selection of destinations are just the the tip of the iceberg of the many romantic places around the world you can ask the big question in style…
