Today I am thrilled to share this incredible Lakes Engagement Shoot with a particularly daring and fun Bride and Groom.
Images were captured by Manchester Wedding Photographer Jonny Draper.
Photographer Jonny Draper tells us a wee bit about himself…
“I love shooting weddings.”
“The happiest day of a couple’s lives, surrounded by family and friends, every single one of them with a great big smile on their face.”
“And I get to be in the middle of it all – what’s not to love?!”
“Every single person is different, every bride and groom has different things that are important to them.”
“For me, it’s about getting to know the bride and groom, not just as a couple, but as individuals too, so that I fully understand what they want, not only from their wedding photographs but from their day in it’s entirety.”
“I love shooting very relaxed, documentary images that allow the bride and groom to be a part of their day and actually spend time with their guests.”
“I couple this with the promise to shoot something unique, something wow, something that none of their friends have – what this particular image is, we often don’t know until the day, but that’s what makes shooting weddings so exciting!”
“In 2013 I won The Wedding Industry Awards North West Wedding Photographer of the year, at the same time as opening the (now!) multi-award winning LOVE Bridal Boutique with my wife Emma.”
“I also established Jonny Draper Photography Training – Masterclasses and Workshops designed specifically for wedding photographers.”
“So it’s fair to say that I don’t think about anything else but weddings – and I wouldn’t have it any other way!”
I now hand over to the lovely couple to share their Love story…
Who are you?
“We are Rob , a building Surveyor at Bruntwood Estates in Manchester, and Chan, a Restauranteur at China Red, Poulton le Fylde.”
“We are both 32 and we have just bought our first home together in Lytham, where we live with our two dogs, Lola and Maggie.”
How did you meet as a Couple?
“Well bizarrely enough we were born on the same day, same year, same hospital!”
“We attended the same school for 13yrs together from the age of 5 and used to sit next to each other in some of the early year classes.”
“We remained friends but the romance didn’t start until 4yrs ago.”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged in August 2013 at the top of Gummers How which overlooks Windermere in the Lake District where we regularly visit and walk the dogs.”
“This over looks where we had our first date where Rob took me on a Lakeside cruise from Bowness to Lakeside where we had a meal sat outdoors next to the lake.”
“Having proposed at the top of Gummers How, Rob then replicated our first date and we stayed at the Lakeside Hotel that evening.”
Why did you choose this location for your Engagement shoot?
“The Lakes has been a special place for us both, Rob, having spent much of his time growing up on the Hill Of Oaks Caravan site.”
“He had joked from the age of 12 with his dad this would be the place he would one day propose to someone.”
“We have been going up to the Lakes as a couple on a regular basis and of course it’s where we got engaged.”
Thank you so much to Jonny for sharing this amazing Lakes Engagement Shoot.
There are not many couples that would have the courage to do something so daring.
But in the name of art and amazing memories these guys were up for doing something really fun and it makes for awesome images !
