Today I am thrilled to share this incredible Edinburgh Engagement Shoot from the fabulous Julie Anne Skelton of Julie Anne Images.
Julie is a Wedding, Lifestyle and Commercial Photographer based in Surrey.
In her spare time she’s a wife and a mum of 3, who loves music and countryside and cups of tea.
She admits to being a bad crocheter and a good cook, more than a little bit partial to Galaxy chocolate and Fry’s Turkish Delight, and loves having fun experimenting with her film cameras on days off.
Julie who is originally from Edinburgh shares the story of this fantastic Edinburgh Engagement Shoot,
“When Peter and Lucia told me all about the proposal on a beach at the Firth of Forth, and how much they loved Edinburgh (my home town), I had this wacky idea…”
“And that’s how we ended up there, mooching around the capital for a lovely few hours and doing the dry-run of taking some couple pictures.”
“We popped into the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street – a beautiful building crammed full of interest, we probably could have spent a whole day in there!”
“It’s changed a lot from the dusty museum of taxidermy I remember as a child.”
“A quick stop off for a cuppa… I love the Scott Monument reflected in the window, that’s where I got engaged.”
“After a sunny little sit-down in Princes Street Gardens, we headed towards the bridges and across to the Kingdom of Fife, to North Queensferry.”
“Peter and Lucia had told me about their favourite restaurant ever being situated there, ‘The Wee Restaurant’ on Main Street, tucked in beneath the huge red ironwork arches of the Forth Rail Bridge.”
“I have to say a HUGE thank you to Alasdair who (having heard the story of the engagement on the telephone) welcomed us in and made a table available on the busiest day of the week, AND appeared with two complementary glasses of champagne – what a special place.”
“Now, this is how the proposal had panned out… Peter had hidden the handmade ring in a geode and pointed out the rock while they walked along the estuary…”
“I’m a sucker for a good old Shakespearean love sonnet.”
Thank you so much to Julie for allowing me to share this amazing Edinburgh Engagement Shoot which conveys the true essence of Edinburgh and Julies passion for the city, and the wonderfully romantic story of the couple.
