Lovely wee Engagement Shoot on the Blog today with 2 very different looks. The images were captured by Dorset based Linus Moran.
Linus has been working as a Dorset Wedding Photographer for the last 3 years, offering Documentary Wedding Photography throughout the South west and rest of the UK.
Delivering a mix of reportage & contemporary portraiture, reflecting his influences & past career of working for over 15 years for Fleet Streets finest titles…
Linus says “Documentary photography is something that has been deeply engrained within me, knowing that each image should tell its own story, whether viewed on its own or as part of a flowing narrative within a set.”
Linus shares recollections from his day with this lovely couple,
“I met Heather & Ben in the middle of January this year. They had found me through my website that features quite heavily my engagement shoot work.”
“They liked the style, and we arranged to meet at Highcliffe Castle, Dorset, a location chosen by the couple.”
“Heather comes from Washington D.C and although she wanted a big British Castle wedding, she couldn’t expect her large family to travel to travel to the UK.”
“Ben’s family on the other hand was smaller and could travel to the United States, so second best was to pull out the stops and have a grand Engagement shoot!”
“They both arrived wearing their formal clothes with the intention of creating some portraits mimicking ‘Wedding Portraits’.”
They wanted big epic images to use of their wedding invites and looking back, that’s what they got !”
“Part two of the shoot saw the couple change into casual attire, and we then took a stroll through the castle grounds and down onto the beach. A glorious setting to get married in with it having a choice of diverse and picturesque backgrounds, it really is something special.”
“This casual set was the real fun element in the day, with them fooling around & padding in the sea.”
“I also suggested that we should get in amongst the sea grasses and play around, which led to a comical set of images that I now refer to as the “ Gorillas in the midst’ series. Somehow they remind me of Sigourney Weaver’s film and Ben certainly seems to have taken on a new persona.”
“They were a fun couple to be around and game on for trying different shots on a sunny but chilly January afternoon. The time passed quickly and the resulting set of images certainly impressed the couple, ticking all the boxes.”
“Just a shame that I cant cover the wedding in Washington later this year, due to prior commitments, but I wish them all the best.”
Thanks to Linus for sharing such a special day. I am sure the Castle Images will ensure that their Wedding Invitations are very memorable. I love the shots of between the grasses especially, so fun.
