Love’s Carousel – Christmas Engagement Shoot – Images Toast of Leeds

To add a sprinkle of Festiveness to the week, I am thrilled to share the stunning cosy Christmas Engagement shoot of Rachel and Sam set in the Christmas Market in Leeds.

Images of the day were captured by the fabulous Shelly of Toast of Leeds.

Shelly Mantovani is Leeds based Wedding Photographer but covers the whole of the U.K. She says of her work,

“I love light and shadow, art and music, films and books. I’m passionate about great design, fabulous architecture and mother nature. I love my camera and my prime lenses and I love to relive all the weddings I shoot with teary brides and chuffed to bits grooms.”

Shelly says of the fabulous shoot,

“Mulled wine, mince pies, and holly and the ivy can take a back seat. When you head to the Leeds German Christmas market, it’s all about the mead, the fiery punch and the funny hats.”

“The lovely Rachel and her fella Sam get hitched next year, but every festive season they head on down to the Christkindlemarkt which sits in Millennium Square to devour some bratwurst, schnitzels and maybe clink a glass or two of German beer together.”

“This year I decided to join them and take their pre-wed shoot at the same time – there’s nothing quite like working and having fun.”

“It is the law when you go to the German market, that you must pretty much eat at every stall you pass and call in at every bar… Sadly, when you’ve got a camera in your hand, you can’t manage the drinking so much.
“So I left the festive spirit to Rach and Sam. I did manage some scrumptious marshmallows though… Plus I also managed to squash one into my camera bag… Oh dear.”
“Their wedding will rock big style I know, and I’m sure they’ll remember their pre-wed shoot for being a lot of festive fun. Plus I reckon we put on a stone in weight from eating all that lovely German nosh!”

“We tried on funny hats- I loved the one shaped like a glove although the tea–pot shaped one was a winner too but Rachel outdid us by trying on the horse hat – neigh! We went on the merry go round, and tried our hand at the dodgems.”

” We called for a quick bit of fire punch, dawdled outside the Mead shop and oohd and aahd over all the pretty Christmas baubles, miniature houses and Nutcrackers.”

“If we weren’t in a festive mood when we got there, we were all Christmassed up by the time we left – plus I’m a sucker for Christmas. I absolutely positively love it. I turn into a five year old every December I swear.”

Thank you so much to Shelly for sharing her incredible images with their beautiful warmth and sense of fun.

You can almost sense the Christmas Spirit oozing from the images.
