Today I am thrilled to share some beautiful inspiration for a Christmas Wedding with this gorgeous festive styled shoot.
Cecelina of Cecelina Photography says of the shoot …
“Christmas weddings are always special to photograph, the quickly vanishing light followed by warmth and cosyiness indoors.”
“The winter bridal look is dramatic, which I wanted to be reflected in the photographs, as well as bringing a personality and warmth to signify the realness of the event rather than just a styled look.”
“I also wanted to show that the light, airy feel to wedding photography can be created in winter, a question I always get asked by my clients who plan their wedding during the darkest months.”
Stylist Charlotte Munro says of the styling…
“Christmas weddings are becoming ever more popular and I wanted to create a shoot to inspire brides and show that you can have a winter wedding that is full of warmth and light, even when that light is not at its best.”
“For the styling I wanted to create a look that was simple and traditional with a main focus on beautiful details and Christmas colours.”
“Our wonderful team on board for this shoot all worked together to achieve a truly fun, Christmas feel which I think brides will love.”
The striking Bridal make up look was created by Joyce of Brides and Beauty….
“I chose the make up look to carry through the strong reds in the rest of the wedding theme.”
“Berry lips look great for winter weddings and it’s a colour that any skin tone can wear.”
“Strong lip colours look great with dark eye shadow colours if you have darker hair too.”
“Brides can also choose a lighter or sheer shade of red with this smokey eye look too.”
Hair stylist Amanda White says of glamorous tresses…
“The shoot was all about elegance for me.”
“For hair I had in mind some of the “greats” through history – think Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn but with a modern twist.”
“I wanted the front to have some height and to look super smooth and shiny in an almost “sweep like quiff”.
“To get a smooth finish, I ran some Toni and Guy serum through the hair before using some heated rollers… and gently brushed it out using a Denman bristle brush.”
“I added pin curls to the side and back for that vintage glamour which I feel worked great alongside Joyce’s makeup and Charlotte’s dress.”
“Adding a little detail in the hair with a clip or accessory can set a hairstyle off beautifully… especially this festive season.”
The imagery is a perfect example of how small touches can solidify the most exquisite of Christmas Wedding looks from the vibrant tone of lipstick to the Bridal Bouquet in gorgeous jewel colours as a balance against the purity of the gown.
Comforting winter fare such as cookies and brownies are fantastic as guest treats for Christmas Wedding receptions.
Flickering candlelight and vases in deep berry shades create warmth in your Event space too.
To compliment the deeps reds of the Bridal bouquet, white floral arrangements, twigs and pine cones also create that wintery, snowy ambience.
A longer sleeve to your Wedding gown is both pretty, and practical when the temperature goes down.
Add some sparkle, both in your Gown and accessories and the glistening snow queen look is complete.
Thank you so much to Lucy Scarfe (also modelling) for sharing this gorgeous Christmas Wedding styled shoot.
Both the stunning imagery of Cecilina Photography and the combined talents of the collaborative team give wonderful inspiration for creating a comforting festive feel without being”over christmassy”
What a wonderful time of the year to say I do !
