Big Fat Scottish Tweet Up – September 2012 – Thank You !

Today I want to say Thank You to a brilliant and generous group of special people who helped to make the Big Fat Scottish Tweet Up come together.
It takes an extrordinary amount of effort to bring to bring this event together which I, @Mrspandp take a wee bit of credit for BUT without Team Tweet Up it wouldn’t go quite so well.
Without the marvellous “29”  and their glamourous Network Bar  – @29_weddings the TweetUp would not have a home. All events including this one have been held there and David, the Events Co-ordinator, the Management and the Staff do their very upmost to be welcoming, helpful and generally wonderful.

Yvonne Cassells or Angelfins – @angelfins is my right hand woman. She helps me with my Graphics and all the technical side of the TweetUp website due to me not being technologically inclined and is incredibly knowledgable and helpful in that respect. She also created the rather marvellous Tweet Up goody Bags that went down an absolute storm.
Norlyne Rosewarne – Pen 2 Paper [calligrapher] @calligraphy2012 created the lovely wee name badges for the evening so that everyone knew who each other were  and is also my unofficial wingman being much more of a public speaker than I will ever be. I appreciate her help with introductions, the speed networking and the Raffle.

The styling of the venue was down to myself with the very generous help of Style Linens who provided their chic black tablecloths and Susan Shannon of Narcissus Flowers – @susanflorist who provided the beautiful little floral arrangements.

Photographic coverage of the evening was captured by the very lovely and supportive Rosie Woodhouse –  @portraitsskye who travelled all the way from Skye  and for that I am incredibly grateful. I am excited to be able to see the images very soon.

The yummy treats for the evening were a joint effort with the Tunnocks Tea Cake Tower  created by me with beautifully sculpted  and delish cupcakes by the fantastic Lorraine at Lolly’s Cakes and Candy – @lolly2pop and the fabulous scottish inspired  Dessert Bar by the wonderful Juliane and team at Snugglemuffin – @snugglemuffin_ . I think everyone enjoyed that Saltire cheesecake.

Some tunes and background music was provided by the amazing Stuart at Fresh Entertainments – @Fresh_Entertain, what a showman with beautiful vocals provided in a Solo spot by the truly brilliant Kirsty Duncan – @singerglasgow

Elizabeth McQueen of  The Intuitive therapy –  @hello_McQueen And Christine Macmillan of Massage Connections @ChristineMcMil were on hand to provide their very relaxing no hands massage to kneed out all those tired shoulders and the smell of scented oils was divine.

I am really grateful to the fabulous David Norwood at We are Bottled – @wearebottled who provided our fab Welcome sign and the awesome little supplier  thank you leaflets for the Goody Bags.

Now the Goody Bags were amazing with lots to delight the guests.

Lindsay at Six Penny Blue @sixpennyblue provided her cannot be beaten delicious and legendary tablet hearts which were very well recieved.

Hosanna at Sweet Everythings provided mini oreo cheesecakes and these have been revelled on Twitter for days, I’m constantly hearing about these bitesize packages of Yum!

I was personally in love  with the little purple pinwheels from  Lisa at Ribbon and Tulle  @ribbonsandtulle and they provided the pretty in our bag of treats.

The wee Personalised Big Fat Scottish TweetUp Chocolates from – Beautifully Wrapped – were absolutely scrumptious and  a lovely reminder of a special evening.

Everyone loves a bit of Bling and the BFSTU Necklaces  from  Twinkle Twinkle Tiaras – @twinkle2tiaras were retrotastic. I particularly loved my pink one that went very well with my frock.

Without the people its nothing. The Event is prmarily networking though it has its charity based side and the connections made are invaluable.

From those I was able to talk to, these connections were made and attendees have made new friends as well as catching up with the old.

Your kind words, encouragement  and support meant such a lot too and I really appreciate it and together we raised £420.
