Today I would like to introduce Emily Plunkett who owns Un.Bridal.Ed, a brand new wedding boutique about to open in Ayr.
The philosophy of the Brand is an Unbridaled passion for the unusual, uncommon and unique.
Un.Bridal.Ed is very much about the individual fashion forward bride craving something different from boho chic to vintage glamour to simple elegance…
A high end shop, Emily shall be stocking firsts for Scotland that will be exclusive to Un.Bridal.Ed from Lara Hannah, Tobi Hannah to Elizabeth Stuart as well as being Belle & Buntys 2nd Scottish stockist and first stockist of Otaduy in Scotland.
Emily has focussed on ethereal, boho and vintage flair and the boutique is very anti bridal in its decor and design.
No shabby chic French mirrors etc. with decor instead being very clean and modern.
The brand places a huge focus on service as Emily found lack of enthusiastic accommodating bridal stores was what inspired her to open.
She says of the launch of the Brand,
“By the time I was 30 one of my goals was to have my own business. So in January this year I went all out and took a huge leap of faith.”
“I decided to open a wedding dress boutique after numerous unsatisfactory experiences of dress shopping (always the bridesmaid, never the bride) where I felt everything looked the same…(I like to call this “white out”) I was also left disappointed by the service and surroundings of the boutiques we visited.”
“I felt that this was not just just something Ayr was missing, but actually Scotland in general was missing out on many fabulous designers which I have sourced and which are now exclusively available at Un.bridal.ed.”
“Brides travel hours to find “the one” and this has been proven recently, with advance appointments being made from as far as Aberdeen and Middlesbrough from extraordinary brides desperate to find something different that truly reflects their style and personality.
“I have put my heart and soul into providing not your average wedding dress in a not your average wedding boutique, and I am proud to have achieved this all this myself . From raising the capital, buying the shop to decorating and visiting the designers to hand pick the dresses.”
One of the designers that the boutique will feature is Tobi Hannah.
Her short and tea-length, modern but vintage-style dresses have been the answer to many a bride’s wishes.
She understands the bride who wants something different on her wedding day and her dresses include demure sixties-style shift dresses, Degas and Audrey Hepburn inspired tutus, and elegant fifties-style dresses with her own design of brocade.
Her latest collection was inspired by and named after the Pink Floyd album, The Wall.
Her second brand, Lara Hannah, has beautiful and ethereal-looking long gowns, many inspired by Waterhouse paintings such as The Lady of Shalott and The Magic Circle. In fact, her latest collection is called The Magic Circle!
Unbridaled Boutique is having a Designer weekend from 28 to 29 September.
Tobi Hannah will be there, along with members of her team, so each day eight brides will be able to meet the designer and try on some of her incredible dresses.
Every single dress in the Tobi Hannah and Lara Hannah collections will be available to try on – from the elegant, tea-length Tai dress to the ballet-rock Epic short dress, and from the stunning, Guipure lace Alberta long dress to the Waterhouse-inspired full lace Magic dress gown.
