A beautiful Aberdeenshire Wedding at Logie House with pretty jewel tone details

Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful Aberdeenshire Wedding at Logie House with pretty jewel tone details.

Images were captured by Hayley Palmquist Photography.

Based out of Toronto & Scotland she has an authentic documentary style wedding and elopement photography which is nostalgic and timeless.

She captures the candid and unseen moments for you to remember forever.

Haley says of the couple…

As soon as they sent their enquiry I knew I wanted to work with them, they were so lovely! I was really excited to meet with them.

Their wedding day was so much fun!

Their son was super cute getting his kilt on in the morning and Hayley & Ben’s family and friends were the best, super nice and hilarious speeches.

The whole wedding was full of love – so much that you can see it. The videographers were a lot of fun to collaborate with too.

We got amazing weather and an epic sunset – what more can a photographer ask for?

I hand over to stunning Bride Hayley to tell us the couples love story, and about their wonderful Aberdeenshire Wedding…

How did you meet?

We are the classic workplace romance! Ben chatted me up at the Christmas party and we started dating soon after.

Tell us about the Proposal…

We were on holiday in San Francisco and had driven down to Monterey for the day.

We had been for lunch and were wandering around when Ben asked a passer by the take a photo of us by the sea.

I was standing posing for the photo then realised Ben wasn’t standing beside me, looked over and he was down on one knee.

I didn’t see it coming at all as I had been constantly in and out all the bags and Ben had never acted suspicious but little did I know he had custom ordered the ring from a jeweller in San Francisco and had picked it up when we got there!

We got loads of great pics from the old man, I think he was as shocked as I was!

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

I gave birth to our little boy, Sonny, 13 months before the wedding so planning with a newborn was certainly a challenge!

I really enjoyed the planning process though, especially looking at all the beautiful venues.

I had Logie House picked out from the very beginning and just kept going back to it. Nothing beat it for us!

I also found wedding groups on Facebook really useful for inspiration and advice.

Any special touches/DIY?

I did our table plan/seating chart myself, which I was really pleased with. Love getting a bit crafty!

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

Our inspirational was mainly jewel tones and earthy colours, quite autumnal really.

What was the best bit of your day?

It is so hard to pick just one part! I loved walking down the aisle to Ben and saying our vows.

Going off for our photos with Hayley was also a big highlight as we were able to spend time just the two of us and we had so much fun running around in the rain.

Our first dance was also so special and really sticks in my mind.

Is there anything you would do differently?

We had some issues with the flowers not going to plan the morning of the wedding which really stressed me out.

Looking back, I would make sure the florist had done a trial run so that we could have resolved the issues before hand.

We were also badly let down by our videographer after the wedding and 18 months on still haven’t received our video :o( so I would 100% book someone else if I could go back and do it again!

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

I know it’s cliche but seriously don’t worry about the weather.

For our Aberdeenshire wedding we were planning an outdoor ceremony and drinks reception but there were yellow weather warnings for the day and we ended up with really heavy rain and high winds.

I got super stressed about it in the days leading up to the wedding but it really is true what they say – when the day arrived I didn’t care about the weather and we still had the best day of our lives.
