Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful Festive Hampshire Wedding with pretty seasonal tones & a sprinkle of Christmas at Audleys Wood Hotel.
Images were captured by Natasha of Honeydew Moments Photography.
This was all the more special to Natasha as a photographer, as the Groom was her Dad.

Bride Marion says of the couples stunning Festive Hampshire Wedding…
How did you meet?
We met through an Internet Dating site back in 2005. Andy pretended that he was younger than he actually was but I caught him out on the first evening, and our story went from there!
Tell us about the Proposal…
I had no idea that Andy was going to propose to me.
We had spent Christmas Day 2018 together andhe had gone back home but insisted I followed him there.
He sat me down by the Christmas Tree and popped out of the room then came back saying he had an extra present for me.
I didn’t realise he was down on one knee until I heard him propose, and I asked if he was serious!….
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
We did not tell any of our family about the proposal until we were altogether on Boxing Day when Andy made a toast from “me and my future wife” – there was a stunned silence and then a lot of excitement.
We had already decided we would like a Christmas Wedding, with our family being at the heart of it.
We had stayed at Audley’s Wood Hotel in Basingstoke a few weeks earlier and had seen it dressed for Christmas and decided it was the perfect venue for us.
It is a beautiful country house, with excellent friendly and professional staff, but because we wanted a December wedding and due to the possibility of inclement weather , we wanted a venue which was beautiful inside too.
In January we contacted Audleys Wood, and booked the date of 7th December 2019 and everything took off from there!
We were clear that we wanted a small wedding, with our children playing pivotal roles. Marion’s son Matt walked her down the aisle, Marion’s daughter Amy was her bridesmaid.
Andy’s oldest daughter Jess was the “best woman” and his youngest daughter Natasha was his other “best woman” and a chief photographer… Honeydew Moments.
What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?
Being a Christmas Wedding our colour palette was red and gold and our theme was “sparkle”.
Our guests were invited to wear something sparkly and we were overjoyed to see everyone dressed up on the day.
Tell us about any Special Touches…
I walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley “The Wonder of You” – at that point, people probably realised that this wedding was not going to be traditional!
Our brothers both did readings. and my Dad and Andys Uncle were witnesses.
Because we weren’t having a formal evening reception, our first dance was to “Pulp Fiction” which we did in front of everyone before we walked back down the aisle.
Everyone cheered and clapped and it was great fun.
Because it was winter, our guests did not assemble outside for the usual photos. We went off with our photographers Honeydew Moments and Jessica Hayman whilst the light was still good.
Our guests were entertained by two magicians from the “Magic Circle” and had mulled wine whilst waiting for the wedding breakfast.
What was the best bit of your day?
It was a day of celebration, with so much laughter and everyone enjoyed it so much.
We did everything we wanted to with some traditional touches included.
Is there anything you would do differently?
As we are older, we had clear ideas as to what we wanted for our wedding and wouldn’t have changed anything. Everything was perfect.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
If you have an idea or theme for your wedding, explore it together and see if you can incorporate it into your big day.
You may have to make a few tweaks but make it YOUR special day but don’t be adverse to taking advice from the experts who have done it and seen it all before!
Don’t be afraid to make a suggestion – they will work with you to try and achieve the day you really want.
