Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful Italian Destination Wedding in Tuscany with a Mori Lee Gown.
Images were captured by JLM Wedding Photography.
James L Morgan is a Wedding Photographer with a light, bright and relaxed documentaryphotography style with a video twist.
He is based in Sheffield and loves to travel.
He says of his work and the couple….
“My aim is to take photos off your worry list.”
“Your wedding day will come and go in the blink of an eye. You will spend months, maybe years, planning this day to the finest detail.”
” Before you know it you will have said I do, gained a spouse and a few flashes of memories from what can seem like a whirlwind of a day.”
“What you need is someone to follow you around all day capturing photos and videos of the action, picking up on moments that you miss so that you can properly sit back and enjoy everything you spent all that time planning.”
“That’s where I come in.”
“I spend most of the day doing exactly that, blending in with your guests, watching for the special moments to happen and capturing everything along the way.”
” At certain times I will take charge and pull together some group photos, and a few posed shots if you want them.”
” Apart from that, you make the memories and I’ll make sure you never forget them.”
“Victoria found me through a mutual Facebook friend, someone I had known for many years and who had worked with Victoria in the past.”
“She sent me a message asking if I was available and whether I would mind travelling to Italy to photograph a wedding.”
“As it happened I was available and I absolutely did not mind travelling at all!”
On the day the wedding ceremony wasn’t until the late afternoon but I decided to arrive at 10am so that I wouldn’t miss any of the setting up.”
“I knew that Victoria and the guests would be doing all the setting up themselves so I felt like there would be moments throughout the day that would be worth capturing.”
“The downside to this was spending the entire day, including the sweltering mid-afternoon, in my wedding suit whilst the guests spend the afternoon lounging about in swimwear.”
Ihand over to Groom, Kelso…
How did you meet?
“At a motorcycle club social night.”
“We had already been set up by a friend, as in she kept wanting us to meet.”
“So Victoria was dragged to the event at Kelso’s Motorcycle club house, kicking and screaming of course, and fate took control of the rest.”
Tell us about the Engagement?
“It was more of a discussion than a grand proposal however I still wanted to make it special when I gave Victoria the ring and wanted to ask the question in a surprising way.”
“So once the ring arrived I went to Pets at Home and asked the lady behind the till to engrave “Victoria will you marry me?” on to a tag to place on one of our Kittens at the time.”
“When Victoria first walked in the room she at thought why is he holding the cat down, until I let the cat walk towards her with his new shiny tag.. and of course upon reading it she said yes!”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“We opted out for a wedding planner and Victoria took it on herself to organise everything.. sorry not quite everything, as I chose the venue, and I did quite well!”
“We were in Tenerife at the time of deciding to get married and said we would love to do it abroad.”
“We discussed guest size and the fact we’d like around 30 people and for us all to stay together. We wanted it to be legally binding at the moment we said “I do” and not to have to come back to the UK and go to a registry.”
“We loved the idea of Italy but wanted a beach.. we were sending venues back and forth to each other when I strayed away from coastal properties and stumbled across Borgo Petrognano!”
“That was it, we were sold. It was perfect, the rooms for the guests where beautiful the scenery beautiful it had a pool, an aisle for the ceremony and a lovely terrace for the wedding breakfast. ”
“We also had to think about cost and luckily the flights from Leeds Bradford to Pisa were around £40 return!”
“So we started talks with the property and randomly.. we mean randomly, picked a date. We took a trip out around a month after being engaged and went to visit the venue. Our thoughts were confirmed and we paid the deposit. It was breathtakingly beautiful”.
“The dress was the first one Victoria tried on, there was many tried on after but none topped the first!”
“So at around lunch time on the day she went dress shopping she came home with a body sized white bag and a massive smile on her face!”
“We picked the bridesmaids and the flower girls, however we had a logistical issue 2 of them where in Australia.”
“However without hesitation they said yes!”
“Our maid of honour Ella was living in Brisbane and had been for 6 years and one of the bridesmaid Henriette a similar time in Townsville. The other two bridesmaids are much more local.”
“The flower girls are the daughters to a couple who helped raise Victoria from being around the age of 14, Paul and Lucy.”
“Victoria’s two brothers, Paul and Jesse made up the Grooms men.”
What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?
“Pastel Pinks complimented by navy in the suits.”.
What was the best bit of your day?
“The first dance, when everyone joined us and we stopped and just saw all I’ve our loved ones on the dance floor for us.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“The worst problem we had at our wedding was too much alcohol left over.”
“If you don’t have a planner or a bar at your property, ask a professional to work out how much alcohol you will need.”.
“Also the bit of advice we got the most, take a step back and take it all in.”
Thank you to James for sharing this stunning Italian destination wedding.
