Dashing Groom Roger says of the couples beautiful Kent Mansion House Wedding…

How did you meet?

We met at work. We became good friends and when Helen left the company, we remained in touch, and as they say, the rest is history.

Tell us about the Proposal…

It was on Christmas Day, with just the two of us at home. The last present Helen opened was the engagement ring.

Yes, I did get down on one knee and proposed. Even though we had already been together for some sixteen years, happily Helen said yes.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

What a journey! Like so many other couples, Covid greatly affected our wedding plans.

The original wedding day was set for May 2020, they moved to April 2021 before finally taking place in July this year.

Any special touches?

The beautiful wisteria blossom trees supplied for both the ceremony and wedding breakfast rooms were a stunning addition.

What was the theme and colours of your Big Day?

The theme was the colours of nature, mainly cream and green. with some summery pink and purple.

What was the best bit of your day?

Being finally able to celebrate with all the family and close friends who have supported us through all the changes of date.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Plan and organise as much as you can as soon as you can. Time definitely flies the closer you get to your wedding day.

Thankyou for this lovely account of the day – it was wonderful to see Helen and Rodger so happy, and all their guests. I write as Sara – my trio , Rose Gold String Trio – was chosen by Helen and Rodger to play music for them throughout the day – we loved it and glad that they and their guests enjoyed our music XX
