Today I am thrilled to share the beautiful luxe Country House Wedding of Lauren and Alex with pretty monochrome and gold details.
Images were captured by Maddie Farris Photography.
Maddiesis a Wedding and Portrait Photographer whose approach to her photography is natural, authentic & unobtrusive, making sure to capture all those important moments unnoticeably, leaving you to make the most of your wedding day.
She is based in the North West of England but loves to travel all over the country for weddings.
She says of the couples country house wedding day…
Lauren & Alex put a lot of thought into the details of their day which was executed perfectly with the help of Sarah from The Rose Boutique.
The decor was modern & elegant without being fussy.
White flowers and plenty of greenery decorated the tables and amazing staircase at Ashfield House.
One of the many highlights of the day was when Lauren surprised Alex during the ceremony with the entrance of the family dogs (two very cute corgis!) who stay for a little while for photographs.
Lauren & Alex were a dream to work with and their families were so very welcoming on the day, and it was a pleasure to capture their special memories.
I hand over to beautiful Bride Lauren…
How did you meet?
We met when we were 14 as we are from the same village, I fancied the pants off Alex from afar!
We then met again years later when I was 17 at the local pub I worked in and the rest is history!
Tell us about the Proposal…
We went away for my suprise for Alexs birthday, little did I know he was surprising me too.
It was our last day of the little weekend away and it started snowing, so he packed the car quickly and drove us to Aira Force in Ulswter.
It was super crisp with the sun shining on the snow and we walked up the waterfall and he asked me to marry him at the top of it.. no one around just us two.
After that I thought we were just coming home, but he then surprised me with one more night at the Belsfield hotel in Windermere.
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
We had the best time planning the wedding, all of our suppliers felt like friends and our venue was just perfect!
We planned pretty much all the wedding to be super chic and modern and it all happened so quickly.
What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?
Very neutral! Black and white with a lot of greenery and candles!
Any special touches/DIY?
Our special touch was planning for Alexs dogs to surprise him down the isle with the rings.
It was super special! Sarah from the Rose Boutique helped out so much with supplying flowers for the female dog and also helped with the organisation of it all! Alex cried like a baby!
What was the best bit of your day?
The best bit of our day was the ceremony! It was so full of love and we (after a few awkward cries and laughs) settled into it and loved rewarding our personal vows to each other!
It felt as if we were the only ones in the room!
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
Enjoy every moment, the good, the bad, the weather!
Ask questions about when you greet people after the ceremony because that part (especially if it’s raining and you can’t all do a confetti shot) can be quite awkward!
