A beautiful same sex Cambridgeshire Wedding at Anstey Hall with purple and grey details

Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful same sex Cambridgeshire Wedding at Anstey Hall with purple and grey details.

Images were captured by John Woodward Photography.

John is a wedding photographer based in Cambridgeshire.

He is a lover of Star Wars, Bladerunner, fast cars, football, tea (lots of tea), watches, is a non-practicing black belt in Karate and used to be in a heavy metal band in 1991.

He travels all over the country, but predominantly in the four counties (Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire) and loves working with clients who are carefree, chilled, relaxed, and a bit mad.

His ethos for his business is fun and friendliness and as such his photography is natural and relaxed with a dash of the offbeat, the quirky, and the different in what he captures.

I hand you over to Bride Victoria…

How did you meet?

We met online..

Tell us about the Proposal…

Jo booked a hotel night away in London right on the bank of the Thames with a fantastic view, told the hotel what she was planning and arranged for champagne on ice to be waiting for us.

In the room was a gorgeous bunch of flowers with the message “Will you marry me?”

I turned around and Jo was holding a ring. I burst into tears (obviously) and said yes immediately. It was beautiful.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

We planned the wedding ourselves in the 6 months after our son was born.

It was a very busy few months but it was great to have other priorities as it meant we had to make decisions quickly rather than deliberating for too long which made the process less painful and prolonged.

It was good fun being able to put into place some of the things we had always wanted for our day.

Any special touches/DIY?

We wrote and designed the order of service ourselves with our sense of humour and  made 80 mini chutneys and jellies as favours.

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

Our colours were purple and grey.

What was the best bit of your day?

Turning around to see my stunning soon to be wife walking towards me – took my breath away.

The entire day was absolutely incredible though.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Don’t stress the small things, they are not important, make sure you are marrying your best friend with those you love around you and it will be the best day of your life.
