To kick off the week I am excited to share this beautiful Winter Wedding at Lympne Castle with fabulous Lego Star Wars details.
Emma and Simon got married in a lovely festive family celebration just before New Year.
Images were captured by by Nick Beal Photography.

His style of photography ranges from natural looking images which he believes captures true emotions of your special day, with a few formals thrown in for good measure.
How I met Simon and Emma?
“I first met Simon about 20 years ago as we both attended Canterbury college studying business and finance.”
“Simon became a head keeper at port Lympne wild animal park, and I became a photographer after trying other professions.”
“We kept in touch throughout this time and I met Emma on nights out.”
“About a month before they got married Emma asked me to photograph their wedding at Lympne Castle.”
What was the day like?
“Fun, fun and fun!”
“The day was laid back which typifies Emma and Simon, I think the bridesmaids were more stressed out than what Emma was.”
“Oh yes, and a little bit of Star Wars Lego thrown into the equation.”
I hand over to gorgeous Bride Emma…
How did you meet?
“We had met previously through a mutual friend and then, a year later, recognized each other in the queue to a club during Fresher’s Week and went out from then on.”
When did you get engaged?
“The proposal came 2 years ago after being together for 16 years!”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“My other half’s family were all coming over from abroad to meet our new little one for a big family Christmas so we decided with everyone here we should just go for it and get married!”
“The decision to the wedding day was just 10 weeks!”
“We fell in love with Lympne Castle as soon as we looked at it and knew it would be a perfect setting for a winter wedding with its Christmas trees and log fires.”
“We chose quite Christmasy colours but had a bit of a Star Wars theme going on with our table names, cake toppers and Lego mini figure favours.”
“The short time scale was perfect for me as I always leave everything to the last minute anyway, and meant that we had to make decisions quickly so didn’t overthink things.”
“I did most of the organizing, emailing, ordering, etc. online while breastfeeding our new little one.”
“Etsy was my new best friend. I loved it for its quirky jewellery, the mini top hat that I wore for the reception and I loved my button bouquets.”
“We were really lucky to have friends that could help us out with invitations, hair, cakes and photography.”
“Planning and preparation was surprisingly stress free and it all seemed to come together really well on the day.”
When did you get married?
” We were married just after Christmas on the 29th December 2015.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“Walking down the aisle as man and wife to ‘Soul Bossa Nova’ by Quincy Brown.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Try to be calm and relaxed, don’t stress over things, and enjoy every minute of it because it goes so quick.”
“Don’t get hung up on money, you’re only going to do this once!”
Thank you so much to Nick for sharing this lovely Winter Wedding.
Such a stunning setting and love the flow of the theme from lego star wars place names, to hanging decorations, to the personalisation of the guestbook.
Also really love the attention to detail put into creating an amazing themed lego cake topper to compliment the cupcake tower.
