I hand over to gorgeous Bride Jenny to tell us the couples love story, and all about their stunning winter wedding…

How did you meet?

We met when we were young at ice skating ( on a Friday night out as teenagers) and everything progressed from then on.

Tell us about the Proposal…

Mark proposed to me on a beach in Barcelona, and it was a complete shock, so unexpected.

We went to the pier and co-incidentally there was a man playing a guitar (he didn’t plan this) but it was very romantic.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

We found the wedding planning process pretty stressful!

Trying to keep to a budget was hard as there are so many elements to the day, and constantly worrying that we wouldn’t please everyone else, though ultimately none of it mattered on the day.

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

Our colours were white and neutrals.

I didn’t want to look back on photos and regret any colour choices, and as we had a winter wedding our theme was very much white.

We had some greenery from the flowers but that was it.

Candles were another huge element to our day, flowers and candles are all you need (I think!).

Any special touches/DIY?

I am not a DIY kind of person, so that wasn’t really an option for us.

We also didn’t do favours because we didn’t quite see the point in the extra costs.

Every wedding we have been to the favours were either left on the table or forgotten about the next day so we thought this was a good money saver.

I asked some of our guests a few weeks after if it bothered them but they didn’t even notice.

What was the best bit of your day?

The meal, we had our band performing during desserts and after the speeches I had hired a singer to sing a song for my new husband (a song he had written for him using my words!

Is there anything you would do differently?

I tried really hard to be laid back during the whole process and I’m glad I was as you only do this once.

I panicked a few days before about little things but I found in the end it really doesn’t matter.

I think as long as you have good music, good friends, a good photographer and the registrar you don’t need much else!

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Don’t do anything for other people, it is your day and as long as you are both happy that’s all that matters.

Your friends and family will be happy if you are.

Don’t spend too much money, the day is over before you know it, as long as you have the important elements that is all that matters.
