Today I am excited to share this amazing brightly coloured Skull inspired wedding with a Chupa Chups bouquet.
Images were captured by Helen England Photography.
Helen England is a Wedding obsessive.
She takes beautiful, creative photographs that faithfully capture the story of your wedding day. But more than that, she creates photographs that make people happy!
Through her work, you’ll be able to relive the romance, excitement, energy and happiness of your wedding day – not just for now but for many years to come.
She loves to capture people who love to laugh. She photographs people who are completely nuts about each other, and people having a brilliant time.
It’s her job to capture the full story of your day: the big moments as well as all the not-so-big in-between moments that matter just as much.
Her style is relaxed, natural and authentic, and captures real moments as they unfold. she embraces natural light and bright colours with a soft, gentle and romantic edge.
She says of the couple and their day…
I first met Rebecca & Chris at the gym! I have been going to Rebecca’s classes for years so I was totally honoured and really excited when they asked me to be their wedding photographer!
Seeing Rebecca every week meant that I had weekly updates about all the plans which was brilliant because I love talking about weddings!! Some days we would be talking for aaaaages about wedding stuff!
I had been talking to Rebecca & Chris about this day for over a year, so to see it finally all come together was just incredible.
I knew it was going to be awesome, but it really was even better than I imagined! I mean, how cool is a Chupa Chups bouquet??! Not to mention her shoes!
I love bright colours, and this wedding was full of them! I loved how unique it was, you could tell that Rebecca & Chris did exactly what they wanted and it all totally suited them!
They were both so relaxed it made the whole day flow really well and meant everyone else could relax too.
I’m passionate about letting a couples’ wedding flow naturally and organically, leaving them free to enjoy it and do things their way, whilst I capture them being their beautiful, natural selves.
I hand over to gorgeous Bride Rebecca …
How did you meet?
We met while both working at the local Leisure Centre. We got on really well straight away and there was an immediate connection.
I was going through a divorce and not looking for a relationship, and Chris is 13 years younger than me so I didn’t think for a minute he’d be interested!
Then one day, while setting up a badminton court, he said “I’m going to marry you one day”, of course I laughed it off but then he said “I bet you £20 that one day I marry you.”
I took that bet and dutifully paid my dues on the day! When our celebrant pronounced us husband and wife, just before we kissed I handed Chris £20! (There is a photo of this too!)
Tell us about the Proposal…
We had booked a short break to Edinburgh. During a visit to Edinburgh Castle, Chris told me he’d booked a private tour.
He’d actually hired the private balcony overlooking the great hall, the staff had decorated it with fairy lights and a bottle of Prosecco.
We then toured the rest of the castle on a complete high after drinking the entire bottle very quickly on empty stomachs!!
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
Planning the wedding was exciting. We wanted something relaxed and casual, nothing too formal.
I looked online for venues nearby and as soon as I saw pictures of The Bell in Ticehurst I knew it was perfect.
Really quirky and wouldn’t need too much decorating as it’s full of character.
Any special touches/DIY?
We picked up lots of bits and pieces in places like Poundland and local Supermarkets. Invitations and the buttonholes were from Etsy.
Of course we had to satisfy my love of sweets with a Chupa Chups bouquet and a pick n mix.
What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?
We hadn’t really thought about a particular colour palette, we wanted bright colours and as it was near Halloween we thought we could incorporate my love of skulls!!
What was the best bit of your day?
I couldn’t possible even pick one bit. Our day was just that… OURS!!
It was an amazing day exactly as we wanted it to be.
Is there anything you would do differently?
I can honestly say I wouldn’t change a thing about the day. We had marshmallows toasted on the fire pit in the evening and bacon rolls and chunky chips.
Rather than a formal sit down meal we had a carvery so people could help themselves and no seating plan. The whole day was very relaxed and laid back.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
The only piece of advice I think I would give to other couples is to try not to please everyone else.
It’s your day so stay true to what you both want and don’t stress out!!!
Everyone will have an opinion on how you should plan your day.
Ours was exactly what we wanted, a big party, very chilled out and didn’t break the bank.
