She says, “I draw my inspiration from art, film and life around me and like the creativity and excitement that comes with every wedding.”
She says “I met Caroline about 7 years ago when we worked at the same bank.”
“From start she was the nicest and kindest person and always helped me out if I needed any advice or support.”
“We became friends very quickly and since then have regularly kept in touch and met for coffees.”
“I was so excited when the wedding day for Caroline & James had arrived.”
“I knew it was going to be a beautiful day with lots of wonderful people so I was so pleased to be asked to document their day.”
“Caroline and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents house and everything went as planned and expected.”
“Caroline’s parents are the sweetest and kindest people and made sure that everyone had a relaxed and a great morning. ”
“The bridesmaids wore beautiful bright purple full length dresses and Caroline was in a stunning strapless white full length wedding dress.”
“Her shoe soles had a ‘I Do’ stickers which is always a sweet detail to have on your wedding day.”
“James got ready with his best man and ushers in Horwood House followed by a cold beer in the Green Dragon in Haddenham.”
“I guess cold beer before getting married is always comforting for men!”
“Caroline & James decided to have their ceremony in the Church of the Good Shepherd in Haddenham and the whole ceremony was conducted beautifully bringing tears to many of the family members and guests.”
“After the ceremony everyone headed to Horwood House where we were greeted with a glass of cold Pimms and canapés.”
“It was a really sunny and hot day so everyone gathered outside and many ventured out to see the beautiful grounds.”
“Before the wedding breakfast, Caroline’s dad, James and the best man did their speeches which was followed by delicious food and drink.”
“And once the evening guests had arrived, Caroline & James cut their wedding cake and danced till midnight with all the energy they had left.”
“It was a wonderful party with lots of family and friends.”
I now pass you over to beautiful Bride Caroline…
How did you meet?
“We met at my sister’s wedding on the 22nd of May 2010.”
“Very randomly my cousin’s new partner happened to have been at university with James, and as soon as she realised we were both single, she encouraged us to talk to one another.”
“Throughout the day, eye contact was fleetingly made, however it took until the end of the night for James to pluck up the courage to talk to me – and with no hesitation at all, I gave James my number.”
“Less than a month later, James was offered a job in Sydney for 18 months.”
“We already felt so strongly about each other that we decided to try to make a long distance relationship work – and through Love, Patience and Skype… here we are now!”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged on the 6th of June 2013.”
“In complete secrecy, James took me up to Edinburgh for his birthday treat… I was blindfolded to the airport and had no idea what was in store.”
“The Glasshouse in Edinburgh upgraded us to a top floor suite, making me suspicious something was going to occur, until James admitted he was very shocked as well!”
“The roof terrace provided the perfect secluded setting for James to pop the question that evening, as the sun was setting over the Edinburgh skyline.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey.
“As soon as we got back from Edinburgh, I started wedding preparations, starting with researching wedding venues in the South East.”
“Between myself and James, we looked at 8 venues across Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.”
“We were after a glorious setting, with rooms available for our guests to stay, and fell in love with Horwood House.”
“For the ceremony, my family church in Haddenham was the only choice for us.”
“As soon as the big date was organised, thoughts were straight into wedding dress shopping.”
“After a long search, including 5 shops, a few tears, and almost resigned to the fact that I would never find ‘the’ dress, the hunt was over at ‘Pure Couture’ in Beaconsfield.”
“As soon as I had tried on ‘the dress,’ there were tears of joy and relief!”
When did you get married?
“We got married on the 6th of June 2014 – a year to the day that we got engaged, and also the 70th anniversary of D-Day (guess what James decided to nickname the wedding date?!).”
What was the best bit of your day?
“When I was walking down the aisle, James waited until I was alongside him to look at me – when we both saw each other, that was our best moment of the day!”
“We also loved having so many of our family and friends together to share our celebrations, without them, the day wouldn’t have been the same!”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Remember the day is for you, and whatever happens, as long as you have each other, that is all that matters.”
“Try not to worry about the finer details, the only people that know about them are you!”
“The day flies by, so savour every second!”
