A colourful Country Manor Wedding in Lancashire with a splash of tartan and football details

Today I am thrilled to share this colourful Country Manor Wedding in Lancashire with a splash of tartan and football details

Images were captured by Delicious Photography.

Kathryn of Delicious Photography is a Lancashire Photographer based in Accrington and covering North West England.

Her love for the lens started 12 years ago as she started a college course part time around her job in Finance.

She did a lot of travelling and volunteering overseas whilst doing her degree and set up a business to fund these trips.

As she began shooting weddings she realised how much she loved everything about them and Delicious Photography began.

She feels lucky enough to do the thing she loves the most for a job, and feels she has found her calling in life!

She likes to capture your day naturally and tell the story as it happens without lots of posing or staging.

Her style can be described as modern and fresh documentary wedding photography.

She likes to blend in with your guests to capture the natural spontaneous moments.

I hand over to gorgeous Bride Jane…

How did you meet?

“We met in 1999 on holiday in Malia when we were 19! A holiday romance!”

“We were together for many years but parted ways in our late 20’s.”

“Neil contacted me back in December 2014  when were were both single again and things went from there!!”

Tell us about the Engagement…

“For Christmas 2015 Neil bought us a trip to Copenhagen for around my birthday in April. 2016.”

“He’d booked a lovely boutique hotel. On the second day we were sightseeing walking round the botanical gardens and I was busy taking some picture of the views and realised Neil wasn’t next to me.”

“I went round the corner and he was waiting by this lovely little stream… he’d been looking for the perfect place.”

“He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! He already had the ring, a perfect fit! I was over the moon, a total surprise.”

“Little did I know that Neil had asked my dad’s ‘permission’ back in November!”

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

“Neither of us wanted to wait a long time, we’d known each other for 17 years.”

“We started looking at venues and as most couples we were conscious of the cost as we would be funding a lot ourselves with some help from our parents.”

“We also wanted just the one venue so people could come at the beginning of the day and enjoy themselves and have a room to fall into at the end of the day.”

“I also love Christmas So we opted to utilise the downtime between christmas and new year which left us 7 months to plan and save pennies!!”

“There were also priorities, We wanted live music, a band we wanted the night to be one big party. And we wanted as much of our friends and family to be there as possible,.”

“An expensive cake, centrepieces or shoes were not important. We’d rather have paid for another 10 guests than a pair of Louboutins!!”

“We also wanted things that were important to us in our lives to feature in the day.”

“Neils little boy really wanted to have a place in the ceremony and we  wanted him to be a ‘mini’me’

“He led the bridal procession on the day and sat with the best man.”

“My sister and neice were bridesmaids and another nephew did a reading.”

“I also take part in amateur theatre so a group of my friends from this were a choir to sing us in and out of the ceremony and during the registar signing.”

“My other nephew a budding singer also joined the choir.”

“My oldest friend lives in America and due to a green card application was unable to leave the country! This was really sad but she sent over a cardboard cut out of herself  in her bridesmaids outfit that featured throughout the day.”

What was the best bit of your day?

“Obviously getting married to the love of my life! but I would say having all our loved ones and friends all together in one place to see us getting married.”

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

“Really focus on what’s important to you, not what you should or shouldn’t have.”

“The really important thing is you as a couple, that you’re happy. If you don’t prioritise, costs can spriral!”

Thank you so much to Kathryn for sharing this beautiful country manor wedding.

Love the beautiful seasonal colours and who doesn’t love a subtle hint of tartan, so pretty!
