Now this colourful and fun Lego Wedding may be a little on the alternative side but even in the world of play, the drama, the excitement, the emotions and the tender moments are as poignant as in real life.
Images from this brilliantly creative shoot were captured by the fabulous Gina Fernandes.
She says of the shoot…
The wedding industry has taken a beating during this global crisis with many couples having to postpone their weddings until later this year of next year.
With wedding season approaching and with next to no weddings left until July I have begun to get a bit twitchy at not being able to be out there and do the job I love and run the business I have worked hard to carve out.
I always work hard to deliver my best and I am a perfectionist. In the run up to the wedding season I am normally out and about photographing – couples, styled shoots, second shooting. You name it. The camera stays warm from being in my hand.
Being in lockdown has changed that. Photography is like a bike – you shouldn’t forget it. And with the amount of weddings I have been too….I shouldn’t forget what happens next or where to be. And I know I won’t. BUT I can’t help but be nervous!
With the panic rising recently, I confessed all to my husband whilst the kids played Lego.
And that’s when the light bulb hit us. Why don’t I photograph a Lego wedding?! And so I did.
It was all for a bit of fun. All to get me feeling useful, creative and forget my nerves.
The images have been loved so far and I am so pleased it has managed to cheer a load of people up! Absolute bonus!!
I can’t not say a big thank you to my kids either, they the kids built it all.
They made the building, the wedding breakfast room complete with tables, the Lego figures & helped me with lighting the dance floor!
Best bit of homeschooling yet!
