A colourful rustically inspired Hertfordshire Wedding with stunning blush pink, burgundy and sage green details

Today I am thrilled to share this colourful rustically inspired Hertfordshire Wedding with stunning blush pink, burgundy and sage green details.

Lauren and Carl shared their glorious summer wedding at the Enchanted Gardens at The Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living with their closest family and friends in August last year. .

Images were captured by John Woodward Photography

John is a Cambridgeshire based UK wedding photographer that captures those moments that make you smile.

He likes to shoot the slightly different, the fun aspects of weddings, and looks at things with a slightly sideways glance to get creative.

It’s a relaxed style, energetic and less formal, but capturing moments that you wouldn’t normally see.

Different, unconventional, friendly, helpful and always going the extra mile, laid back and hopefully creative and a bit awesome too!

I hand over to gorgeous Bride Lauren who shares the couples love story…

How did you meet?

We met through mutual friends when we used to drink in the Black Swan pub. He was 21 and  I was 22.

Things progressed from there.

Tell us about the Proposal…

Carl took me to Rome for my birthday, a place I had wanted to visit for so long.

It had been a long day of sightseeing & I was starting to get sore feet & whingey when Carl insisted we walk up a very steep road.

Once at the top I could see why, it was beautiful with a great view of the city.

Also at the top was a beautiful fountain that wasn’t too busy & surrounded by tourists.

Carl asked a lady if she wouldn’t mind taking our picture by the fountain,  and she agreed.

We were standing in front of the fountain, I was getting ready to pose when Carl got down on one knee & proposed.

I think I burst into tears & course I said yes.

I was not expecting it at all & he had been hiding it all weekend.

It still makes me gush when I think about that moment and it was all caught on camera.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

We got engaged in November 18 & decided to get married 4th July 2020.

We started our planning in Feb 2019 to give us plenty of time to bring everything together.

We knew we wanted something outdoors with a very relaxed festival vibe so first thing we looked into was local tipi marquee companies & outdoor wedding venues.

We wanted to get married outside in a woodland, and I had visions of Maid Marian in my head!

. Once we found the right venue & tipi company we booked them straight away.

All was going to plan until Covid.

Did Covid have any impact on your Wedding Planning?

We had to cancel 4th July 2020 & changed it to 15th May 2021, but again that date was cancelled.

So our 3rd date was booked 28th August 2021, and luckily all our suppliers, venue & tipi hire could move to the new date.

What was the colour palette of your Big Day?

We chose blush pink, burgundy, sage green & lots of lush green foliage to compliment the natural surroundings of the venue.

Any special touches?

My mother in law is very good at craft & she created all our table decorations

What was the best bit of your day?

Apart from the I do’s, the best bit would have been the dancing!

As it had been so long you’ve been able to enjoy yourself on the dance floor, we barely came off!

Is there anything you would do differently?

No. We loved every minute of our wedding. It was exactly how we wanted it to be.

Relaxed, no pomp, chilled out & just lots of fun!

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Try to enjoy all the planning & make it fun, even when it can be stressful at times.
