Today I am thrilled to share this glamorous Scottish Castle wedding at Borthwick Castle with chic jewel colour details.
Images were captured by Iris Art Photography.
Iris Art Photography are a team of three Edinburgh based photographers specialising in Wedding photography in Edinburgh, Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
They also travel to the most remote areas of the UK, Europe and the world capturing the most precious and emotional moments of your special day.
Talia and Nathan came all the way from sunny L.A to celebrate their marriage in the country of Talias ancestry.
Talia first came to Scotland as a teenager with her dad touring around the countryside.
She fell in love with its beautiful landscapes, and people and knew one day she would return.
The couple married last September after being together for 10 years.. first as friends, then as a couple and finally as husband and wife.
Talia had always dreamt of a traditional Scottish Castle Wedding, in the most majestic of venues and in Borthwick Castle she found everything she had been looking for.
Borthwick Castle is an incomparable 15th Century Scottish keep.
This lofty and magnificent tower house set in a quiet scenic location was built in 1430 by the Borthwick family, and after careful refurbishment is now an exclusive wedding and events venue complete with 12 bed chambers and room for 85 guests, available for exclusive private hire.
The couples day started with typical Scottish weather, grey skies and a breeze, but the skies cleared to bright sunshine.
Talias natural beauty didn’t need much help but was enhanced by stunning hair and make up by Madeup Team of Edinburgh.
For the wedding ceremony Talia decided to surprise her guests by having an owl from Hoots Owls deliver the couples wedding bands.
She has quite a lot of experience. with birds of prey so this was a highlight, and she welcomed the owl with a beaming smile.
Most of the couples guests were from the USA, and they really enjoyed a magical day in stunning historical surroundings with exceptional Scottish hospitality.
Their evening entertainment was very traditional.
First cutting the cake with a sword, and then having their first dance as husband and wife choosing Song of the Siren by The Mortal Coil, before celebrating on into the night.
