Gorgeous Bride Nicola says of the couples Autumnal Kent Wedding…
How did you meet?
We met at the stables where our horses were kept. Lawrence started to ride a horse at my yard and our relationship developed from there over our mutual love of the horses
He asked me out for a drink the first time we met but it took him nearly four months to win me over. I didn’t think I had time for a horse and a partner!
Tell us about the Proposal…
Lawrence proposed on holiday in Lake Garda, 4th August 2018, on the terrace in front of our apartment overlooking the lake, it was beautiful.
Marriage had been discussed and he had spoken to my parents so I knew it was something that would happen but wasn’t sure where or when.
He had said he had wanted to do it earlier in the trip when we visited an Island but there were so many people about and he thought I might cry.
He was right, there were tears!
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
Being a Halloween wedding we went for a Pumpkin theme, with little munchkin pumpkins along the aisle and a mixture of different coloured pumpkins, white, grey/green and traditional orange.
We also had gourds for decoration on the tables and fireplace along with Ivy which we also had wrapped around candelabra’s.
Place names were also lasercut pumpkins. In the evening we also had arrangements with fairy lights, it looked magical.
We managed to find some pumpkin cake toppers too which we now have on our fireplace at home, with I love you and I know!
These are very personal to us and have nothing to do with Star Wars!
We didn’t have a particular colour palette just autumnal tones with a little bit of a Halloween theme.
What was the best bit of your day?
The whole day was so special, its hard to pick but we both agree being announced as husband and wife!
Is there anything you would do differently?
Eat more food!
Also we didn’t have a videographer and looking back maybe we would have changed this although we have plenty of videos from friends.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
We were advised to make sure we took 5 minutes out to be together and just take everything in, the day really does fly by.
I’d also say trust your suppliers, they are the experts and it’s nice to have some surprises on the day.
Not every detail needs to be completely planned.
