Today I am thrilled to share this gorgeous autumnal Welsh Micro Wedding set at Penallta House in Caerphilly.
The couple are Laura and Josh and they had a rollercoaster of a time planning their beautiful intimate day but Love triumphed over Covid.

She says of the couples special day…
The couple had originally planned a much bigger celebration at St Pierre in Chepstow for September 2020 but unfortunately, Coronavirus had other ideas and they had to rethink their wedding plans.
So with Welsh Government restrictions they decided on a small celebration with just 10 of their closest family and friends.
But 5 days before, a local lockdown happened in the borough where they live!
After multiple calls to the Welsh government, St Pierre and Monmouth Registry office, it seemed that it just wasn’t meant to be.
They thought on their feet and rearranged for their local registry office for October.
Luckily, they got in just in time and sneaked in their fabulous micro wedding just 6 days before the whole of Wales was back in another strict lockdown!
Their wedding day was wonderful with just 9 of their family to watch them tie the knot at Caerphilly Registry Office with a lovely ceremony with 3 readings from the registrar herself.
When we exited the ceremony the couple were greeted by Laura’s grandparents who instantly made everybody cry with emotion!
We spent some time in the wedding garden at Penallta House for an amazing confetti shot and capturing somefamily group photos.
Then the rest of the guests headed off whilst I kept Laura and Josh back for some time on their own and some couple photos.
We then joined the rest of the guests at a nearby park where a further 20 of their friends were waiting (to keep in line with the 30 person outside rule.).
There there were more photos, lots of congratulations and a fabulous champagne spray too!
Beautiful Bride Laura says of the couples love story, and their gorgeous micro wedding…
How did you meet?
Josh and I went to the same school, however Josh was 3 years older than me so our paths never really crossed.
But by chance we both worked in Dominos while I was in college and josh was at Uni, and we became really good friends!
We started a relationship of some form and then Josh put me off at first…typical man!
But he soon came to realise that he had made a mistake, and we’ve been together ever since!
Nearly 7 years later we were married.
Tell us about the Proposal…
I’d been dropping hints on and off for ages (josh was getting fed up and it had caused a few bickers) we went to Tenerife, I knew he’d bought a ring..(I found a receipt.)
But I no idea he had hidden it in a sock the whole holiday!
We went on an excursion which included Mount Tiede by night and right at sunset josh said to me “do you want what’s in my pocket” to which he then asked me to marry him!
Not one for fuss so really glad this was low key, and no one could see what was happening!!
How did Covid impact on your wedding planning?
I (Laura) was always very laid back when it came to the wedding planning, never really let anything get on top of me.
Until Covid happened.
I was very much in denial that we probably wouldn’t have the wedding we’d originally planned!
But I remember one day walking our dog together and both me and Josh turned to each other and realised a big wedding was never really something either of us wanted.
We had got caught up in what people expect to have from a wedding and we realised we just wanted to be married!
That’s when we changed everything and our micro wedding was going ahead regardless of Covid restrictions!
What were your favourite moments of the day?
Favourite moments? Everything!!
How relaxed everything was, how we could all get changed for the evening and was such a chilled environment no stress and still had an amazing time!
Is there any advice you would give couples getting married soon?
You need to do what’s best for you both!
And when it’s all over the only important thing is that you’re married!
A wedding in any shape or form is what YOU and your nearest and dearest make it.
Break the mould of a normal wedding! Oh and make sure you have an amazing photographer like ours.
