Today I am delighted to share this gorgeous Devon Wedding at the Horn of Plenty with a navy and salmon pink palette and a falconry display.
Images were captured by Norsworthy Photography.
Norsworthy Weddings is a Photography business is based in Kingsbridge in the South Hams of Devon, and Martyn has been photographing Weddings for over 20 years.
He says, “We are a very professional Studio based company and were Regional Finalists in the 2015 TWIA.”
“We offer a very high class professional service. Part of what we do is help plan the day so that we know our timings suit your day and it doesn’t become to feel like a photo shoot!”
“I met Emma and Wayne at a local Wedding Fair at Langdon Court Plymouth, we clicked instantly and they visited the studio the following week to book.”
“The day was fabulous! Emma and Wayne had got to know me well and I them, and from the Pre Wedding Shoot to their rehearsal we all got on famously!”
“It was a beautiful wedding full of beautiful people. The Falconry display was also such a great addition to their day.”
I hand over to the beautiful Bride…..
How did you meet?
“My best friend flat shared with Wayne and they both worked for the same company.”
“I came to stay with my friend for a 2 week break in the summer whilst uni was finished, Wayne and I hit it off straight away and I decided I loved Devon and wanted to enrol into the university here and stay.”
“8 years later and it was the best spontaneous decision I ever made.”
When did you get engaged?
“Wayne proposed on Christmas morning during my 2nd year at uni in 2010. There was a box within a box within a box, all wrapped up under our little Christmas tree.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“We knew of two venues where we wanted to get married and went to check them out.”
“The first one was a little commercial and we were told of their package and what we had to have which instantly put us off.”
“We then went to the Horn of Plenty where Julie (the owner) sat us down and asked what we wanted; we booked the hotel straight away as we already knew that the food, drink, hotel and staff were amazing.”
“We set a budget, but after going dress shopping the budget went out of the window by falling in love with one of the beautiful dresses in Sam Cox in Plymouth.”
“Everything else was kept simple and we chose everything around the venue.”
“The only stress we had was a few months leading up to the big day as one of our bridesmaids changed so the dress had to be altered 3 sizes down and a hunt was on for shoes!”
“We were both quite calm throughout however as we tried to do as much as possible earlier in the year. Keep it simple and beautiful!”
When did you get married?
“We got married on Saturday 23rd May 2015.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“If we had to choose one thing, it would be watching the Falconry display with friends and family.”
“The sun came out in the afternoon which was amazing, mixed with the backdrop of the hotels grounds and stunning scenery making this very special and something a little different.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Plan early to avoid stress.”
Keep a spreadsheet or a diary to keep track of your budget (I fell in love with almost everything and our costs doubled).”
“Have your Mam/Sister/Best Mate on speed dial. Download Skype if like me you live 400 miles from them… its way cheaper!”
Thank you so much to Martyn for sharing this gorgeous Devon Wedding.
