Today I am excited to kick off the week with the gorgeous Farm Wedding of Lizzie and Paul with its stunning pink, purple and green palette and and a hint of a music theme.
Images were captured by Duncan McCall Photography.
Duncan McCall is originally from Lochwinnoch near Glasgow and is now based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Having enjoyed photography for many years and after photographing a few friends weddings he decided to go full time a few years ago and has loved every minute.
He worked as a Graphic designer for over 12 years and this design background really helps him create visually stunning photography.
His style is vibrant colours and strong contrasts that really make the images stand out.
He says of his work….
”On the day I document your wedding with a creative story telling style and do this in an unobtrusive manner to really let the true story of your day unfold.”
“I also love creating stunning couple portraits that really have the WOW factor.”
“This is a good time for myself and the couple to take a small break from the wedding party and create some photos that will be enjoyed for years.”
“Couples really enjoy this part of the day as its done in a relaxed way and gives the couple a chance to reflect on the day.”
I pass over to beautiful Bride Lizzie to share the couples story…
How did you meet?
“We met online, and within two weeks of Paul moving to Newcastle we had been for our first date to the Great British Cupcakery.
“We planned date number 2 for just 2 days later and before we knew it we were planning the wedding!”
When did you get engaged?
“We talked about getting married all the time, Paul had spoken to my dad about it and had his blessing but was just waiting for the right moment!”
“Last summer we went on holiday to Majorca, and before we went Paul had told me that he wasn’t going to propose on holiday.”
“But then we visited Palma Cathedral, and Paul was overcome with emotion and popped the question there and then!”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“When we got home from Majorca we told our parents that we were engaged, they we over the moon and the planning started straight away!”
“We knew that we were limited with when the wedding could be as Lizzie is a teacher so it had to fit in with holidays. and also the farming calendar so that the wedding reception could take place at Lizzie’s parents farm with a real country feel.”
“We identified a free weekend, divided out different jobs and got going!”
“We decided to have a music theme running through the wedding as it means so much to us, Paul used to DJ and Lizzie sings with different choirs.”
“We even made our invites from old 7 inch singles and Lizzie sang her way down the aisle.”
When did you get married?
“We got married on the sunniest day this year, 23rd May, the day was just perfect from start to finish!”
What was the best bit of your day?
“There were so many best bits it’s hard to choose one.”
“Just looking at each other’s faces with beaming smiles throughout the day was amazing.”
“We were so humbled by everyone’s kindness and well wishes.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Remember that it is your day, enjoy every single second, stop to look around, we got so much enjoyment from seeing all of our guests enjoying themselves too!”
Thank you so much to Duncan for sharing this beautiful farm Wedding.
Love the musical touches from the wrapped confetti cones, to the incorporation in the floral arrangements, to the old style record player and the outstanding cassette tape table plan and table names…
A really fun touch whilst still being incredibly elegant and the couple being able to share their personality and a part of their lives that means such a lot to them…
