Bride Jen says of the couples beautiful Christmas wedding…
How did you meet?
We met on a night out at a pub in London through mutual friends, and it went from there.
Tell us about the Proposal…
The proposal was a bit drawn out!
The proposal was on Christmas Eve in the final box of an advent calendar.
Each box contained a moment of a memory from our 7 years together until the final box asked the question “Will you marry me?”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
We both love Christmas so we always knew we wanted to get married then.
Planning was very straightforward; we fell in love with the first venue we viewed and didn’t look at any more.
For all the main things to book like photographer, hair/makeup we went with recommendations from friends and kept decorations/flowers quite simple but beautiful and being Christmas, the venue gave us the option of their own Christmas decorations which was really helpful.
The only stressful part was choosing who sat where for the wedding breakfast!
Any special touches/DIY?
We made our table plan and welcome signs ourselves complete with tables named after Christmas films.
We also made crackers and hats for each guest along with custom wedding craft beers (made by a friends brewery – though Mike designed the labels) as favours.
What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?
We chose a subtle Christmas/winter theme with navy bridesmaid dresses and white flowers.
What was the best bit of your day?
There were too many best bits!
The day was amazing. Jen came down the aisle to a piano version of The Snowman.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
Don’t stress on the planning, go on peoples’ recommendations, and finally enjoy/soak up every minute of it.
