Rebecca and James got married om April 23rd 2016, 13 years to the day they got together.
Images were captured by Karen of Fuller Photography.
Karen Fuller has been capturing weddings full-time since 2009.
Before then she spent five years in Art school and then 10 years in the graphic design industry.
Photography has always been a huge part of her, with an obsession with cameras for over 30 years.
With the change in technology to digital, she took the plunge professionally and has felt so honoured to capture each and every wedding since then.
She loves artistic, creative, romantic and fun-loving weddings, and photographs in a distinctive style, mixing moments as they happen with natural feeling posed images.
I hand over to the couple to share their story…
How did you meet?
“We met when we were young at a friends house.”
“We were friends for 3 to 4 years had a lot in common started talking more and then got together and had been together for 13 years before finally getting married.”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged on September 27th 2014.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“We knew we wanted it to really symbolise us as a couple, so tried our hardest to keep things traditional and laid back.”
“A Church wedding was always a dream of Rebecca’s, a dream that we knew had become true.”
“Keeping it as local as possible was also big for us.”
“St Margaret’s Church in Old Catton (where we live) is a quaint little chapel and was a perfect size for what we had in mind and luckily it was free when we wanted it.”
“We looked at various places throughout Norfolk and Suffolk for a suitable reception venue, but in the end we opted to stay in Norfolk.”
“We looked at many barns as an easy way to create our vision (as many are a blank canvas), but nothing seemed to grab us.”
“We then took a look around How Hill, and instantly fell in love with the house and grounds.”
“It also sits right on the broads, so we knew this was the place.”
“Our families and close friends were a huge help with the whole process, all took on responsibilities and seemed to enjoy helping us plan this day.”
“Rebecca chose her sister Emma as her only Bridesmaid as the both of them are as close as sisters could ever be, and our niece, Esme as the flower girl.”
“I (James) chose my friend Chris as my best man as we have been friends since we were 5ish and nobody other than Rebecca knows me better.”
“Without the help of Emma and Chris the process would not have been half as fun, both manage to keep our heads where they need to be, when they need to be there.”
“Our Parents are always supportive and continued to support us through the 18 months of planning, throwing in ideas and helpful offerings.”
“When it came to looking for a photographer Rebecca remembered seeing a picture on the internet that Karen had taken and managed to track her down at a wedding fair.”
“The picture seemed to grab the feel of what was in her mind and after meeting with Karen we knew she would be a good fit to the overall plan.”
“Cake and Flowers were all done by family friends who have their own business’s, again this to us was important as we really like supporting local small business’s.”
“Our rings were purchased from Albrow and Sons, the same jewellers that Rebecca’s Dad got her Mums ring from, which again was something we felt was right to do.”
“The night prior to the wedding we set out to How Hill with family and friends to set up the house and grounds our selves.”
“This was hard work but worth it as it set the mood perfectly for the big day that followed.”
“The day itself was magical and very emotional, a day we would both repeat again and again, surrounded by family, close friends and of course each other.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“The ceremony mainly but we truly enjoyed it all.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Take the advice others give, but remember its your day and don’t lose sight of what its truly about.”
“Make time to take it all in.”
Thank you so much to Karen for sharing this stunning Norfolk Wedding.
I love the striking combination of navy and yellow as accent colours giving a luxurious feel to the styling.
The florals are stunning and love the rustic touches with trees as table names and hessian table runners, naturally beautiful .
A wonderful relaxed celebration in a glorious setting with a incredible backdrop.
