Bride Vivian says of the couples love story, and their pastel rainbow inspired Wedding Day…

How did you meet?

We met at my brother’s college graduation party. I walked up to him first and introduced myself and it went from there!

Tell us about the Proposal…

He proposed to me after my college graduation. He wanted to wait till the stress of school was behind me.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

I planned the wedding with the intention of it to be simple but fun!

I used some large businesses, local businesses, and businesses that I knew through the recommendations of friends and family.

The bouquets for the bridesmaids, corsages for the moms, and boutonnieres for the groomsmen and fathers were all faux, put together by hand by myself and my sister-in-law.

My wedding dress was purchased from David’s Bridal, and I also purchased a skirt of rainbow tulle from Etsy seller CestCaNY.

We then had a tailor sew the skirt into the dress in the layer just underneath the top. (So that the rainbow effect would show through!)

My shoes were white knock-off converse that I decorated rainbow with fabric markers and puffy white fabric paint.

I decided this would be comfortable and would only show when dancing, since my dress was floor length.

For jewellery my sister-in-law made 8 bracelets (one for each colour of my bridesmaids) for me to wear on one arm to form a beautiful rainbow.

I also painted little wedding hashtag canvases to put on each table with acrylic paint.

What was the theme / colours of your Big Day?

We chose a pastel rainbow inspired wedding palette with the addition of grey and white.

What was the best bit of your day?

The best bit was definitely dancing!  We had almost everyone out on the dancefloor for the entire wedding. It was SO hot, and yet no one stopped!

Is there anything you would do differently?

I would have left more time for photos. We rushed most of our photos due to an error in my planning.

I got many lovely photos thanks to Haven Visuals doing a great job, but I think if I planned better we would have gotten more.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Roll with the punches. Tons of things didn’t go exactly my way on our ‘big day’ but I just went with it. (within reason of course.)
