Bride India says of the couples Mull Wedding day…
How Did You meet ?
Hugo and I met when we were 17, so by the time we we got married we had been together for 10 years.
We met through a mutual friend and as Hugo loves to remind me I Facebook ‘stalked’ him and then he asked me out!
We have been through a lot in our 10 years together, university, buying our first home, travelling to some beautiful places, and eating at some truly incredible restaurants!
Tell us about the Proposal…
Hugo proposed to me in August 2017, on the side of a cliff in Cornwall.
It was at a little hut tucked into the cliff edge that you have to climb down to, called ‘Hawkers Hut’, and it was blowing an absolute gale!
It was a wonderfully special emotional moment!
Tell us about your Wedding Planning Experience…
We had always talked about getting married on the Isle of Mull, as it is where my mother grew up and where I have gone all my life for summer and Christmas holidays.
It is dear to my heart and holds a lot of memories for me, and now Hugo as he has been coming up with me for the past 10 years.
We planned our ceremony to be outside (I know, Scotland, crazy!) in May, but we had had two glorious years of perfect sunshine in May.
Typically for our wedding it absolutely poured with rain all day with no let up, but it honestly did not matter, it was still perfect day and our friends and family have all said they had the most incredible time.
Hugo and I are into food, and Mull offers some of the best local produce around, so everything on our wedding menu was local.
We had smoked fish from Tobermory Fish Company (Tobermory is the local town, about 15 mins from Glengorm) and lamb from Glengorm Estate.
Tell us about the Decor/ Styling…
It was hugely important to us that we use as much of our surroundings as possible, for example our table decorations were based on land and sea, so we used pebbles from the beach on the estate, we used branches of wood and logs from the forest and bought mini whiskey bottle for each person from the local distillery in Tobermory.
There were so many little touches like this, our table plan was treasure map of Mull hand drawn and painted by my sister in law, flowers were all expertly organised by my mother in law and her amazing team.
Mull is a small close community and we were lucky to have so many talented and creative family and friends who helped bring the whole day together.
The couple also had a post wedding shoot the next day in glorious sunshine…

Groom’s shoes: Loake
Favours: Mini individual Tobermory Whiskeys
Flowers / Table decorations/ Venue decorations: Grooms mum, Julie, to organise the flowers for the wedding, she has had lots of experience with flower arranging and we had no doubt she would pull off something pretty wonderful.
One of our earliest wishes was to have a flower covered arch to stand under for our ceremony. Julie and her brilliant team (all family and close family friends) pulled off a stunning arch and the flowers in the marquee also looked amazing too.
