The say of the couple and their day…
When we first met Lauren and Ellis-Jo in Starbucks for a coffee they both seemed a little quiet, but we knew straight from the off that we would all get on well.
They had booked Woodhill Hall for their wedding day, a lovely, relaxing venue in Otterburn that is completely exclusive and provides a fabulous setting for a wedding day.
On the day we had a lovely, relaxing morning with Ellis-Jo. She was quite happy to have some fun and get creative with some pre-ceremony photographs.
Lauren was getting ready with her bridesmaids in the Darcy room and her little boy Charlie.
Charlie walked Lauren down the aisle and there followed a meaningful and emotional ceremony.
After the ceremony we ventured outside for some couple photographs, making the most of the incredible surroundings of Woodhill as the guests enjoyed some relaxing time before we headed in for the wedding breakfast.
Instead of speeches, Lauren and Ellis-Jo decided to have a quiz which proved to be a big hit.
We snuck upstairs for some more photographs of our newlyweds together, before heading off to the tipi to start the evening reception
The first dance was followed by a fantastic party, and everyone danced the night away….
I hand over to Bride Ellis-Jo to share the couples story…
How did you meet?
We met at TGI Fridays. I was trained by Lauren when I first started working there.
Tell us about the Engagement…
I proposed on the 4th of April 2016 at the fisherman’s bastion in Budapest. (Laurens response was “f**k off”)
Tell us about your Wedding Planning experience…
The wedding planning was pretty smooth, and we fell in love with Woodhill instantly, booking it the same day.
We didn’t really have a theme we didn’t want too over the top but it had to be out there, different.
What was the best bit of the day?
Personally for me the best bit of the day was seeing Lauren and Charlie walk down the aisle together..
I’d waited months and months to see her dress and they both took my breath away, Charlie looked like a little gent and Lauren looked absolutely gorgeous.
What advice would you give to other couples?
My advice would be, just pay for the wedding planner. They are there to make your wedding planning easy and enjoyable and ours certainly did that.
Nobody wants to be called a bridezilla!
