Today I am thrilled to share this quintessentially London Wedding with a peach palette and a Sophia Tolli Dress.
Andrea and Leon were married at St Barnabus Church in Homerton High Street and then had their reception at the truly stunning Leyton Great Hall in Leyton, London.
This morning it was my great pleasure to share the couples beautiful Southbank Engagement Shoot and I am honoured to follow up with their gorgeous wedding.
Images were captured by Nicola Rowley Photography.
Ever since she can recall, Nicola Rowley has always loved photography.
It’s a passion that was passed on to her by her dad, and she still remembers the day when he bought her her first camera, aged seven.
Fast forward a few years and when she met husband Matt spent a lot of time exploring different countries, both of them with their cameras never far from their sides.
But the thing that fascinates her more than anything else is people, and being able to capture their personalities and emotions at any given moment, to create stylish, timeless images that can be looked back on for years to come.
After training with some of the most respected photographers in the industry, and lots of prompting from those closest to her, she launched her business and have already won national awards from The Guild of Photographers.
It helps that she understands photography, and know what works and what doesn’t.
It also means that she understands the importance of attention to detail and how to help make whoever is on the other side of the camera feel relaxed, even when they’re worried or uncomfortable about having their picture taken.
She says of the couples Big Day…
“Their wedding day was on a very hot day in June, and by this time I was seven months pregnant.”
“It was so lovely to see them both again after their Southbank Engagement Shoot and to see how happy they were to be surrounded by their friends and family.”
“Highlights for me were seeing Andrea in her dress for the first time, getting to see Anthea again (Andrea’s sister) as we used to work together many moons ago, and being in the privileged position to be able to capture their story as it unfolded throughout the day right through to the Electric Slide dance at night.”
I hand over to couple to share a little of their planning journey, and their day…
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“We planned the wedding over 2.5 years, it was a slow and steady plan sorting things out at weekends when Leon came up to visit me in London from Romsey.”
“I created a big scrap book of ideas from glossy wedding magazines but then just made decisions on gut feel.”
“I enjoyed the process and enjoyed watching wedding TV programmes such as Don’t Tell the Bride, Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings.”
When did you get married?
“We got married on June 7th 2014”
What was the best bit of your day?
“The wedding service, it was so excited to be finally getting married after months of planning and wonderful to have all our friends and family to share the moment.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Set a budget and stick to it, it’s really easy to go crazy but it prevents any financial regrets once you are married.”
How did you rate your photographer?
“Ten out of Ten, Nicola was excellent on the engagement shoot and the day itself.”
“She made us feel comfortable and relaxed. On the day very persistent on getting the right shot, climbing up a step ladder to take a wonderful group photo (although heavily pregnant at the time).”
Thank you so much to Nicola for sharing this stunning London Wedding.
Love the elegant peach palette and the focus on fun, family and togetherness, a wonderful celebration.
