She says of the Lauren and Phils rainy Warwickshire wedding day…
Their day was one of smiles, laughter and rain in biblical amounts! It rained from daybreak until about midnight but didn’t dampen their spirits or day at all.
The colours were bold and bright ditto the smiles and laughter. I loved documenting their day as it unfolded.
Nothing was staged as they wanted everything completely natural and recorded documentary style.
So I recorded it as if I was back in my TV days, working out where to be to get the best shots and reactions to ensure I captured this high energy day.
Many brides ask me, what on earth happens if it rains and I echo Lauren here ‘embrace it’!
I hand over to stunning Bride Lauren…
How did you meet?
We met at a 1940’s day hosted at the Severn Valley Railway and spent the day on a steam train!
Tell us about the proposal…
It all happened on the bridge in Arley where we first met as a steam train went by! Our wonderful son was also there to help pop the question!
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
Phil’s words “the bride did it all” and I can’t disagree. We had a relatively relaxed approach and just wanted it to be a lot of fun!
Any special touches?
We wanted it to be fun and represent our personalities well. Pork scratchings and nuts on the bar, live music all day and couple beer pong of course!
Did you have a theme/colour pallete?
Our day was bright, bold, colourful.
What’s the best bit of your day?
Hard to choose but it has to be the actual ceremony.
We had no idea how our 3 year old son would be during the ceremony but he ended up being fully involved and entertained our guests at just the right moments!
Is there anything you would do differently?
I would have remembered to grab my amazing bouquet for more photos!!! My mum tells me off for this so much!!
Have you any advice to others getting married?
Do not be put off by the rain! It actually made our day even more special.
We hired a nanny to be our eyes and watch over our son William for the whole day.
He got to choose how involved he wanted to be rather than being forced and there were no tantrums!!
