A romantic rustic County Durham Wedding at South Causey Inn with soft pink and grey detail

Today I am thrilled to share a romantic rustic County Durham Wedding at South Causey Inn with soft pink and grey detail.

The couple are Carol and Ritchie who shared a wonderful intimate celebration with their loved ones last year.

Images were captured by Bailey and Mitchell Photography.

Bailey & Mitchell are Emily and Micah, a husband and Wife team based in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

Their documentary style approach is simple, natural and relaxed with the aim of wanting those they photograph to be able to have fun and enjoy their time with them.

They love to seek out the little moments and find the hidden details that you may not have even thought of yourself!

They aren’t just all about weddings though…they also shoot relaxed and natural lifestyle sessions for families, couples and little ones!

I hand over to beautiful Bride Carol to share the couples love story…

How did you meet?

We met in our local pub. At the time I said “Trust me to be the one to get stuck with the one doing card tricks!”

Richie made my chosen signed card disappear and reappear inside my purse!

Tell us about the Proposal…

Richie had invited both sets of parents to our house to exchange gifts on Christmas Eve.

When they arrived he disappeared and reappeared in his tuxedo.

My first words to him were, “Where do you think you’re going?!”

He then proposed with some lovely words about me and the kids.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

We had been together for years and with a huge group of friends and family it was an impossible task to arrange.

However we saw a “Drive-thru” wedding package advertised at South Causey Inn, and we looked at each other and thought, that’s quirky, like us!

Any special touches?

Our day was very intimate and everybody pulled together to make it so special.

Our six year old granddaughter was the star of the day, and had 4 jobs. Bridesmaid, DJ, photographer and our favourite, she also was our Ring Bear (her words!)

What was the theme of your Big Day?

We chose to have a rustic theme that blended well with the setting.

Did Covid have any impact on your Wedding Planning?

Our Wedding had to be rearranged 3 times. Our daughter and partner were travelling from Spain to join us and had to rearrange flights 3 times too!

What was the best bit of your day?

The best bit was everyone being so close with it only being 15 people.

We have always said that every wedding we’ve been to the bride and groom never spend any time together on the day.

We were side by side all day and night and never stopped laughing!!

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Do it!! and do it your way. It’s your special day and enjoy it. It’s not about anyone else but you two.
