Today I am excited to share this gorgeous Rustic Wedding with Sunflowers, DIY touches and otters.
Fiona and James got married on the 30th August 2014 at the Beauchief Hotel in Sheffield.
Images of the day were captured by Mylo Photography.
Mylo Photography are based in Sheffield and specialise in relaxed, natural, reportage style wedding photography.
Keiran of Mylo Photography says of his Business…
“As Mylo Photography, my wife Joanne and I aim to deliver a complete wedding photography package to our clients.”
“We enjoy meeting and getting to know our couples and also hope to keep in touch throughout the planning process.”
“Having recently married ourselves, we know first hand the amount of planning and preparation that goes into a wedding and so do our very best to ensure that our coverage is seamless and really captures the essence of the wedding day from start to finish.”
“We offer a very simple package and work with our couples in order to provide them with the coverage, type and style of photography they require at a price that won’t break the budget.”
“The end product is a collection of beautiful, timeless photographs that immediately bring back all of the happiest memories from their wedding day.”
I now hand over to beautiul Bride, Fiona…
How did you meet?
“We met through a mutual friend around 7 years ago and enjoyed each other’s company from day one.”
“We gradually started spending more and more time with each other and realised that there was something bringing us together.”
“By the time we became a couple we were already in love and knew this was forever.”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged in October 2013.”
“We were heading out to one of the first places we visited together which was the otter and owl sanctuary at Chapel-en-le-Frith in the Peak District.”
“It is a place we visit a few times a year and holds a special place in both our hearts as we are both mad about otters!”
“The weather had been a little rainy on the previous days but we arrived in beautiful sunshine and found the giant otters were in an exceptionally playful mood!”
“It seemed as though we had the whole place to ourselves and just as I was engaged in a close up encounter checking out one of the giant otter’s teeth I was trapped in a corner and James was sort of on one knee in a puddle in front of me.”
“I didn’t really know what was happening and don’t actually remember saying yes!”
“Suddenly I had a green diamond ring on my finger and a lot of otter commotion going on! Seems like they knew something was special happening.”
“Even though we had said before it would be a perfect place to get engaged it came as a complete surprise and fortunately there was a nearby bench for me to sit on and take it all in (which I did for quite a while).”
Tell us about your wedding journey.
“We considered going abroad and having a beach wedding but the more we thought about the day we were convinced it was really important to have as many of our loved ones there to celebrate with us.”
“It was really hard to make decisions as there are so many options and I had never had a clear idea of what I expected for my wedding day.”
“What we knew we wanted was for a relaxed feel to the day where everyone felt they could let loose and enjoy the party (which they did!).”
“From the beginning we knew we wanted to include otters in our wedding and managed to source some amazing otter wedding invites and cake toppers.”
“The theme of the wedding was quite rustic with tree trunk centre pieces, sunflowers, bunting, yellows, greens, blues and lots of DIY touches.”
When did you get married?
“We got married on the 30th August 2014 at the Beauchief Hotel in Sheffield.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“We both loved every minute of it, the whole day felt so natural and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Try not to leave DIY projects to the last minute like we did!”
“Some items we ordered only turned up a couple of days before as they kept getting lost in the post so try and get orders in as early as possible.”
“Most importantly enjoy every second of it as it will never happen again and it’s an amazing feeling to celebrate your love with everyone you feel close to.”
Thank you so much to the Mylo Team for sharing this beautiful Rustic Wedding.
I love how the blue, green and yellow flow throughout the day with vibrant blue bridesmaids, to bridal shoes and fantastic wildflower bouquets.
The otter topper on the lovely Wedding cake is just too cute and the otter themed table stationery is inspired.
I think its almost meant to be that I featured this stunning celebration as myself and my family visited the Chestnut centre, or the Owl and Otter Sanctuary in the summer and its amazing.
What a place to start your journey.
