Today I am thrilled to share an exquisite Stoke Rochford Hall Wedding with fushion of cultures of touches of navy and orange.
Images of the day were captured by Mark Pugh Photography.
I hand over to Mark and Pamela of Mark Pugh Photography to share their recollections of the couples beautiful Stoke Rochford Hall Wedding…
“Bukky and David’s wedding saw a fusion of cultures against the majestic backdrop of Stoke Rochford Hall in South Lincolnshire.”
“Venues don’t come any more grand or imposing than Stoke Rochford Hall.”
“The exterior architecture has to be seen to be believed, and the ground and interior (restored after a 2005 fire by English Heritage) are all superb.”
“The present building dates from 1843, and was designed by architect William Burn for Christopher Turnor.”
“For the rest of the 19th century and early 20th century it was owned by the Turnor family.”
“Christopher Turnor’s grandson sold 6,000 acres of the Wragby estate in 1917.”
“He started holding summer conferences at the hall.”
“In August 1940, the estate was taken over by his first cousin, Major Herbert Broke Turnor.”
“In 1940 the house was requisitioned by the War Office, and used for a variety of purposes.”
“It became the headquarters of the Second Battalion, the Parachute Regiment. It was in the Library at Stoke Rochford that the ill fated 1944 Arnhem ‘drop’ was planned.”
“This made it a fitting and grand location for the couples beautiful multi cultural day.”
“As Bukky’s white open-topped wedding car (Penny) from Wedding Cars Lincs made its way up the long driveway to the Hall, it was a grand start to a wonderful day.”
“Groom David’s family had travelled from Scotland, and some of Bukky’s relatives had made the trip and travelled thousands of miles to join them.”
“As Bukky stepped out of her car, assisted by her very proud father, Franklin, there were emotional greetings with all of her family.”
“Meanwhile, David and the rest of the guests were waiting in the large orangery which provided the perfect location for their nuptials.”
“The ceremony itself was lovely, and there was hardy a dry eye in the room as the couple exchanged vows.”
“Once they were Husband and Wife, everyone enjoyed a champagne reception before the wedding breakfast which took place in one of the many grand dining rooms at the Hall.”
“Scott Perry (Magician) mingled amongst guests and entertained them with his amazing style of close-up magic during the Drinks reception. It was incredible to watch!”
“Bukky and David then headed out for a short duration in the open-topped wedding car (Penny) provided by Wedding Cars Lincs and Mark was able to capture some very special moments.”
“The reception venue styling, favours and decorations were provided by Crystal Venue Decoration and was done to perfection.”
“With food eaten, it was time for speeches… with a difference. Bukky’s father Franklin had prepared a large screen with a projector to show some photographs of Bukky when she was younger.”
“It was a funny and moving tribute to her daughter that proved that PowerPoint presentations don’t have to be boring.”
“The evening entertainment got underway with drinks and a live band (the very talented Funkification) in the main hall, an enormous room completely oak-panelled with one of the most imposing fireplaces we have ever seen.”
“A beautiful end to a wonderful day.”
Thank you so much to Pam and Mark for sharing this colourful, family centred celebration with stunning details.
Such an incredible and grand location and such joy eminates from the images.
