Today I am excited to share a stunning Alice in Wonderland theme Wedding with pretty pastel detail.
Emma and Gary were married at The Old Courts Wigan in a beautiful celebration with their family and friends.
Images were captured by Kirsten Platt Photography.
Kirsten is a full time Wedding photographer based in Clitheroe, Lancashire travelling too wherever a wedding may take her.
She loves what she does, capturing the essence of a Wedding Day, and believes each story is unique.
A glorious day was in store for Emma & Garys wedding day.
A day that so much thought and preparation and gone in to, by many creatives especially Emma’s mum.
The theme for their wedding was Alice in Wonderland, one of my favourite stories and films from my childhood so I was very intrigued to what would be in store, and it was a delight.
I hand over to gorgeous Bride Emma…
How did you meet?
We met on the dating app TInder like many people these days.
Tell us about the Engagement…
I was actually suffering from morning sickness in the very early stages of pregnancy, looking and feeling pretty rubbish.
It was valentines day and Gary got up to make me a brew and then gave me my valentines presents of a cute teddy, some flowers and a lovely photo book with pictures of our time together so far.
At the end of the picture book were the words “Will you marry me?” then he got down on one knee with a Haribo ring….
This was replaced by a real ring within a few minutes.
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
We had so many ideas of where we wanted to get married etc but with having 4 children our budget was tight, and this made our wedding planning journey a little busy and pretty stressful.
However we did enjoy looking at venues and imagining the sort of wedding we wanted.
What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?
I had seen Alice in wonderland themed weddings before and really loved the concept but I wanted it more vintage looking.
So we went for pastel colours and adapted the theme to a look we liked.
What was the best bit of your day?
That is a hard one to answer, the preparation on the morning was one of my favourite bits, it was just lovely with all the excitement and buildup.
Gary’s favourite bit was seeing me walk down aisle…
This is what he says, but I’m pretty sure when he got to have a drink afer the nervousness of the ceremony would of been one of the highlights of his day.
Both of us loved the speeches and readings, especially the one my children did for Gary.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
Concentate on the venue and a good photographer as both are paramount, we love looking back at our photographs now.
Also try to not to get overwhelmed and just enjoy the experience.
