Today I am thrilled to share this stunning Cornwall Wedding in Porthleven with a Maggie Sottero gown and a striking red and blue colour palette.
The couple are Stephanie and Ben and their wonderful Wedding Day was captured by Liberty Pearl photography.
Amber of Liberty Pearl is a Wedding Photographer documenting love, joy & happiness in Devon and Cornwall and beyond.
She has have been a photographer for 16 years and a wedding and portrait photographer for 7 years.
She loves being creative, and after starting her career in music and event photography she found weddings and portraiture to be an exciting new challenge.
Her reportage style of photography is very natural, unobtrusive, and relaxed therefore capturing the special and spontaneous natural moments, to tell the perfect story and convey the happiness and ambience of the day.
I hand over to gorgeous Bride Stephanie….
How did you meet?
“It was all a bit of a coincidence, we had a mutual friend who Ben who introduced us.”
“A couple of weeks later whilst on a night out I bumped into him again and he didn’t remember me at all!”
“When I saw him again with our mutual friend I ended up telling him off for not remembering me and he asked for my number!”
“He was very lucky I gave it to him and the rest is history!”
2When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged in Brighton in July 2013.”
Tell us about wedding journey
“We didn’t start planning the wedding straight away, but after a year of being engaged we thought it was about time to get something arranged!
“I always knew I wanted to get married in Cornwall as thats where I am from and I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else, and it helps that Ben absolutely loves it there as well!!
“We decided on getting married in my local Church, less than a mile from where I grew up and then decided to have our reception in a beautiful fishing village called Porthleven.”
“We had just over 18 months to plan the day, which I think was plenty of time even then it was still a bit of rush at the end!”
“We organised the big things first, like venues, photographer, flowers and band, so we knew they were all in place and then we could pay them all off in instalments so not everything was due in the last few weeks.”
“And then from there the littler things fell into place, I brought my dress and bridesmaids dresses just under a year before and the suits for Ben and the groomsmen were all sorted with 6 months to spare.”
“I made all of our Save the Dates and Invites as I couldn’t find anything that matched what I wanted and this also saved us a lot on our budget.”
“We also made / constructed all of our centrepieces, table plan and decoration – we saved a lot of jam jars and bottles!!”
When did you get married?
“We got married on 18th June 2016 and it was lovely.”
Best bit of the day?
“The whole day was amazing so it’s hard to pick a best bit as there were quite a few!
“I loved arriving at the reception and walking into the room to the massive welcome of all of our guests! That was so special!
“I also loved being like a local celebrity for the day in the village where we had the reception!
We had a lot of people watching us have our photos taken and coming to congratulate us in the street.
One of the local pubs even gave us Jager shots on the house as we walked past to say congratulations!! Very funny!
What advice would you give other couples?
Make to do lists! Wedding planning can be so overwhelming, especially if you’ve never planned anything on that scale before so making lists of what needs doing and by when was a great help.
I also used a lot of spreadsheets, they really helped with budgets and guest lists.
Also make sure you enjoy your day – I made sure I spent a lot of time in the evening dancing to our band.
You are arranging your ideal party so make the most of it!
Thank you so much to Amber for sharing this gorgeous Cornwall wedding.
Love the beer bottle Table plan, so simple yet absolutely inspired.
Also love the laidbackness and relaxed air of their day.
There is a huge sense of togetherness and celebration with friends and family and that’s really important.
