Today I am thrilled to share this stunning Elopement in Edinburgh at Arthurs Seat.
The Bride wore a gown from French Connection and this intimate celebration was very much about the couples little family unit with their baby son being guest of honour.
Laura and JP’s day was captured by WeddingCity Photography.
WeddingCity Photography are Francesco Zanet and Serena Genovese and they are destination Wedding Photographers based in northern Italy but who shoot weddings all around the world.
They are lovers of beauty, little details and sweet stories whispered in the ear.
They work all around Italy and North Europe, and they love to travel towards those who, like them, love details, style and excellence!
They think photography offers just more than a memory, it’s the visual interpretation of those memories.
Serena loves: Polaroids, Scotland, true smiles, light of dawn, going around with Vespa in the middle of nowhere.
Francesco loves: Flashy sunglasses, warm wind, watching movies, the fire under stars, chocolate and of course his Vespa.
I hand over to Bride Laura who shares the couples love story, and recollections of their day…
“It doesn’t seem real but 3 and a half years ago we didn’t know that eachother existed and now we are a family of 3 (5 including our fur baby boys!)”
“We met online on the dating website plenty of fish where we found there is indeed plenty of fish.”
“We each met a few pleasant, funny and downright weird “fish” before we met each other!”
“But we soon both left the site as we found in eachother that we both fitted together perfectly.”
“What I was looking for was someone to share adventure, family and laughter together and we found it in each other.”
“We both enjoy travel and the outdoors and so over the years we have found ourselves in wind, rain and snow on mountains in Morocco, Wales, Greece and of course Scotland among other hills and countries!”
“We love history and beautiful city’s and we created magical memories in beautiful places like Malta, Rome and of course Edinburgh!”
“Once we felt we had enough happy adventures to hang up our walking boots for a short while we settled down to family life and we were blessed to welcome our darling boy Rhys to the world.”
“Really I feel like I have everything I ever wanted.”
“A kind, funny, patient man who is my best friend, a beautiful boy who links us forever and has been a wonderful source of joy (his cuteness makes up for any sleepless nights he may have caused us!).”
“We are also lucky to be surrounded by the best family and friends whom have been very forgiving of our naughty elopement!”
“JP proposed with a bit of help from his boy. They woke me one morning with a lovely surprise.”
“Rhys was wearing a baby vest that said “mummy, will you marry my daddy?” How could I refuse? Especially when JP suggested a romantic wedding on a hill in Scotland!”
“Our elopement on Arthur’s seat was the magical, romantic wedding we both dreamed of.”
“We felt it fitted us perfectly and we got to say our vows on the hillside in our boots and thanks to both Serena’s and our luck, the sun shone in beautiful Edinburgh.”
“The sun has always shined in Scotland for us and Serena has yet to photograph a rainy wedding!! If you want a dry but slightly cloudy day for your wedding then Serena is your perfect choice!”
“The hand binding ceremony is a Celtic tradition where the phrase “tying the knot” originates and we loved the ceremony and the way the photography came out.”
“The ribbons were our something borrowed from my mum so that made it even more special.”
“The humanist vows reflected our values and beliefs about marriage and life perfectly. Rhys was the perfect wedding guest, our best man, ring bearer and my something blue!”
“We had the best day and Serena and Francesco captured the romance and joy perfectly. We can’t stop looking at the photos.”
Thank you so much to Francesco and Serena for sharing this incredible elopement in Edinburgh.
Thank you also to Laura and J.P for sharing their amazing story.
Love how they have just made the day their own by going to a place special to them and doing it their way.
Love also the tradition of tying the knot and how it just strengthens their little family unit.
The landscape is spectacular and just adds to splendour of their celebration.
