Beautiful Bride Kerry says of the couples Hampshire Manor House Wedding …..

How did you meet?

We first met back in 2011 whilst we were working together at Nandos.

Our friendship blossomed until we eventually got together in 2012.

Tell us about the Proposal…

The proposal was in Bath, I took Erin away for the weekend in January 2017..

We had spent the day visiting all the tourist spots, then went to chill out at The Spa & Bath House.

I had called days before to book us in, the staff were really lovely and told me which day was quieter in there

I was so nervous and wanted it to be intimate and just us.

I paced up and down the spa and eventually got down on one knee asked her.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

We started planning the wedding shortly after and held an engagement part to bring our friends and family closer, this went so well as on the day everyone knew each other.

We then started to look at other wedding blogs, getting ideas from wedding magazines, attended wedding fairs and Pinterest was a massive help.

The first thing we did was to visit and book our wedding venue, providing us with a date to work with for the suppliers.

We then spoke with the venue about our package and changed a few things to match with what we wanted, like meal and drinks, how many people were attending.

For us the most important aspect of the day was the photographer, and we did a lot of research on different styles of photography to decide what we wanted.

We knew we wanted more of a documentary/natural photographer so they could really capture the day, and felt like the photos were the one thing you could really look back on over the years.

That’s when we got in touch with Paul and Carol of Tansley Photo to meet with them; after our first meeting we knew they were who we wanted to work with.

They also gave us some helpful tips on ideas to work with our own suppliers to best create our vision.

Once we had our date set, we knew we needed to get the invitations out asap as a lot of family would be travelling from afar for our Hampshire Manor House Wedding.

We looked on various websites and ended up going with A Moment of Magic which are based in Bolton.

They had so many designs which were all beautiful. and they worked closely with us  sowe ended up with exactly what we wanted.

We then made lists of suppliers, contacted them, and deciding who we wanted to use by meeting with them to go over  our plans and for them to share their ideas and portfolios.

We first met with the florist after booking our photographer and venue.

Miss Mollies Flowers came highly recommended and looking at her previous work you could understand why.

We knew we wanted bright colourful flowers (and a lot of them) so talked through our ideas with Claire.

Erin and I gave colours and flowers we definitely wanted included within our bouquets and decorations – from there she took our ideas and created the beautiful flowers we had on our special day.

Next we began the search for our wedding dresses and both knew we didn’t want to be involved or see each other’s.

We decided to attend different dress shops so there was no chance we would see each other’s.

Erin went to Tilly Mint in Fleet for her dress and picked hers on the first visit. I went to Sofi Designs Bridal – Basingstoke and again chose mine on the initial visit.

We also bought our bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dress from Sofi Designs Bridal.

Both stores were amazing, including all the staff, and we both felt special from the moment we went in until our final fitting.

We then organised the suits for our Dad’s and Brothers from Slaters Basingstoke.

We were impressed by how much choice they offered, we decided on a navy blue suit for our brothers, and a grey suit for our Dads.

We then booked the entertainment for our wedding day and had used a DJ for our earlier engagement party.

He was great fun and got everyone dancing so we knew we would be booking Tony again.

We also knew we always wanted a band for our wedding day, and looking online there was a lot of choice, so we were a bit nervous.

We found ‘Bands for Hire’ and they showed a set of music from the band, so you can get an idea of the type of performance you would get.

We decided on ‘The Fiction’ due to their great reviews and beautiful voices. They did not disappoint on the day and everyone was mesmerised by their performance.

Our Auntie arranged and supplied our wedding cake, this was from a friend of hers who had a really good wedding portfolio.

We actually chose a cake he had previously done for a wedding, we just asked him to make all the sponge below the icing in to rainbow colours.

The cake was very elegant but totally changed when it was cut in to. It tasted AMAZING!

When looking for our hair and make-up artist, we knew we wanted someone or a team who could provide hair and make-up as one.

Totally Flawless stood out to us as they had a team of people, and with 2 brides 3 bridesmaids and a flower girl, we knew more than one person was required.

We fell in love with their style of neutral tones and understated make-up  but had a trial for our Hair and Make-up which helped us feel at ease on the day.

The final touches were the stationery which was through the venue recommended supplier ‘Elegant Stationery‘.

What they offered was so special and pretty we loved the extra detail provided.

The Photobooth was an added extra that everyone really enjoyed, and this rounded off our Hampshire Manor House Wedding so well.

Any special touches/DIY?

We made our own favours for the day which had a pack of wild flower seeds and a jar of honey; we wanted to do something environmentally friendly.

They were so pretty after all the decorating and effort that went in to creating them.

Our family and friends have since planted their seeds and kept us updated on the progress!

We also had a sweet cart which the venue supplied, just having to decorate it and provide all sweets.

This was a massive hit with all the kids… and adult kids!

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

The theme was colour!

All sorts of different tones but colours that really stand out, like green, yellow, pink, blue etc.

Our bridesmaids wore pastel pink dresses which tied in with the Navy Blue suits.

What was the best bit of your day?

Kerry – The best bit of the day was the ceremony, it was just how we wanted and we had everyone there with us, it felt very intimate.

Seeing Erin for the first time was my favourite part, years of wonder brought to me in seconds, I felt so special in that second, knowing I was about to commit to her.

Erin – My favourite moment of the day was just after we became Mrs and Mrs and we left the room hand in hand beaming with happiness. It was the first moment we got together, just us, and it felt amazing the finally be married and in Kerry’s arms as her wife.

Is there anything you would do differently?

The only thing I would do differently would have been to make sure the day after was more organised.

We ended up running about trying to gather all our belongings and left over cake, flowers etc!

Make sure your friends and family are there to help.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Make sure you have a clear understanding of what you want, or what you are happy to compromise on if you need to.

We would always suggest meeting with your suppliers first, go for any trials available even if you have to pay extra.

This also helps you get a feel for the supplier, my worst nightmare would have to be getting something different to what you wanted.

Make sure invitations are sent early too, especially if people are travelling far.
