Today I am thrilled to share a stunning Italian Destination Wedding in Tuscany with colourful wild flower detail.
Joanna and Dave chose an intimate wedding in a place special to them to celebrate with their family and friends.
Images were captured by Elizabeth Armitage Photography.

Beautiful Bride Joanna says of the couples stunning Italian Destination Wedding day…
How did you meet?
We met online on Match.com in October 2012.
Tell us about the Proposal…
The proposal was in October 2018 on bended knee in Piazzale Michelangelo overlooking Florence with a ring he had designed and made by a local jeweller.
It was all such a total beautiful shock.
We celebrated with friends in Florence for the rest of the weekend with Aperol spritz !
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
Our wedding journey was like no other as we had visited the wedding venue in Tuscany in 2019, and booked 10th Oct 2020 unaware that we would be in the middle of a global pandemic!
We held our nerve and continued to plan with initially 35 guests flying in, but with the go ahead give with only 7 hours notice due to Italy and quarantine laws we managed to get 20 of our closest family and friends there on a flight the day before the ceremony .
The Groom, brother of bride and friend had already set off driving to Tuscany 4 days prior to transport all the table decorations , DJ equipment and most importantly they stopped on route to buy wine from a Valpolicella Vineyard .
What was the theme of your Big Day?
As the venue was so beautiful and breathtaking we didn’t really need a theme or colour scheme we just wanted to enhance the natural surroundings with lots of wild flowers and greenery.
The florist and I communicated through pictures on my phone and I really hoped for the best, I had faith in her vision as she was highly recommended by my wedding planner Hewelin Vanni from Marry me in Tuscany.
What was the best bit of your day?
The ceremony was my favourite part as my brother walked me down the most beautiful aisle that had panoramic views over the Tuscan hillside.
We had a bespoke ceremony lead by Germana who had spent time with us over the last 2 years so she had got to know us , most of the guests were overwhelmed by the beautiful ceremony Gemma’s blessings had created.
This was followed by fabulous food by Class Ricevimenti who even made our cake in front of us and the guests , such a showcase of delicious talent !
Is there anything you would do differently?
Absolutely nothing ,apart from it being in a pandemic.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
Research your suppliers , look at their web content , t& C’s , recommendations , testimonials and then trust them to do their job .
Have an open mind and be prepared to go with the flow, have perspective.
Also don’t panic if everything isn’t as you first expected as ultimately it’s about you and your partner saying your vows, and celebrating with family and friends who aren’t bothered if the seat cover is the wrong shade of cream!
We are also thankful that we chose Elizabeth Armitage Photography as she captured all our marvellous moments in such a discrete way that we now look back on fun smiling times , nothing too staged . So important after the event to have such wonderful memories.
