Today I am thrilled to share this stunning Lancashire Wedding inspired by vintage shabby chic with a Peacock twist at Chipping Village Hall.
Images were captured by About Today Photography.
About Today Photography are Zoe & Tom, a husband and wife Wedding and portrait photography team based in Manchester.
They describe their style as artistic, contemporary, relaxed and colourful.
I hand over to gorgeous Bride Adele to tell us the couples love story, and about their pretty Lancashire Wedding…
How did you meet?
We met on a well known dating website
Tell us about the Proposal…
We were away on our first holiday in Cardiff, on the 15th of June we went for a walk and went to Barry island and Alex got down on one knee and proposed on the edge of the cliff. (Even though it was very windy and I couldn’t hear all of what he was saying I still said yes.)
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
We planned to have it at the Chipping Village Hall because my Grandad and dad built it, and with my Grandad passing away a couple of years before the wedding we wanted it to be part of the wedding.
We did a lot of decorations ourselves and brought the look we wanted to create together with a lot of personal touches,
Any special touches/DIY?
We used step ladders from my dad, which was decorated with lace from my Grans old bit box ( mum’s mum who passed away when I was 9).
We had milk churns to represent my Grandad (mum’s dad) who was a dairy farmer, and hand decorated or handmade the signs, jars, place cards, table plan, and homemade confetti,
In our floristry we also chose to honour our history with my bouquet which was a replica of my Graans (mum’s mum) bouquet.
We had some photographs taken at my Nanna house in her garden. (Me and my grandad (dad’s dad) painted the fountain together as a present for my nanna while she was away on holiday ,
Being the only daughter with 3 brothers me and my dad had are dance after mine and Alex’s we danced to I loved her first by heartland
What was the theme of your Big Day?
The theme for our Lancashire Wedding was a vintage shabby chic with a peacock twist.
What was the best bit of your day?
Alex said everyone getting together at the reception was the best.
I enjoyed everything but I think the dance with Alex and my dad will always stick in my head.
Is there anything you would do differently?
If I had had any control over the weather that would have been good, but everything else was perfect
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
Don’t worry if you are late to the Wedding (I was 40 minutes late) people will wait.
Spent the wedding together, don’t feel like you need to check up on everyone, stay as a couple and people will come to you.
(This advice was given to us by another couple because they didn’t really see each other on there wedding day because they was working the room).
