A stunning Peebleshire Wedding at Traquair House with pretty peaches and cream detail

Today I am thrilled to share this stunning Peebleshire Wedding at Traquair House with pretty peaches and cream detail.

Images were captured by Boda Photography.

Boda Photography is Sarah, a creative documentary and fine art Wedding photographer inspired by real love stories, and who is based in Queensferry near Edinburgh.

I hand over to gorgeous Bride Rachel to tell us the couples love story, and about their beautiful Peebleshire Wedding day…

How did you meet?

it was through a couple of mutual friends. They put us in touch with each other.

Tell us about the engagement…

We got engaged about 4 years ago on Bonfire Night, Hamish took me to the jewellers to choose a ring.

It felt really special picking the engagement ring out together.

How did COVID change your Wedding plans?

Our original date for the wedding was 18th July 2020.

We booked our venue in September 2018 for 60 guests during the day then over 100 in the evening, and we planned on having a hog roast and a Ceildh.

It was about May 2020 when our venue suggested we choose an alternative date so we picked 8th May 2021.

Our venue, Traquair House, and all our other suppliers were so supportive and great at working with us on making sure our new date was going to work.

Even though the rules by May this year allowed 50 guests we felt it would be best to have 20 (just in case any rules changed last minute).

Of course we couldn’t have the Celidh anymore but most of our other plans stayed much the same.

What was your favourite bit of the day?

This is genuinely a really difficult question, every part of the day was amazing and such great fun.

But if I really have to pick one thing it was hearing our registrar announce us as Mr and Mrs Brown for the first time at the end of the ceremony.

What advice would yo give to couples getting married right now?

Getting married is about you and your future partner.

We were so lucky to be able to share our day with close friends and family in our dream location with a great reception afterwards but at the end of the day it was about us getting married.

Don’t get caught up in what you can and can’t do at weddings during COVID, the main thing is that you are marrying your best friend.
