A stunning rustic Pennsylvania Wedding with pretty slate blue details at the Stone Mill Inn

Today I am thrilled to share this stunning rustic Pennsylvania Wedding with pretty slate blue details at the Stone Mill Inn.

Images were captured by John Malloy Photography.

He loves photographing weddings, love, and relationships in the most beautiful and artistic way, allowing your moments to live on.

John says of the couples rustic Pennsylvania wedding day…

Jenna and Chris’s Stone Mill Inn wedding was truly amazing.

The Bride and her girls arrived at the Inn in the morning and were treated to breakfast by her soon-to-be husband.

Chris proved to be an unseen rock to Jenna all day. He had many of the small details taken care of so Jenna could relax and enjoy the best day of her life.

Jenna’s amazing bridal party was a joy to her all day long. Besides her 1 1/2 year old niece keeping the girls entertained, Jenna’s favorite people got to be with her.

Her mom, future mother-in-law, and even her grandparents were there most of the day while the girls got ready and had some pictures taken.

It was so special to have those Jenna loved most close by on this most special occasion.

Jenna’s first look with her father was beautiful and full of emotion. You could tell by the look on his face, that he truly adores his daughter.

They shared some private sentiments and I got some great photos. And still there was one more thing to do before the wedding began.

Jenna and Chris had also decided to do a first touch instead of a first look.

That time finally came, and as Jenna walked down the aisle to “A Thousand Years”, her heart skipped a beat when she saw her groom.

She knew that everything was perfect. Jenna was so excited to be with Chris and just hold his hands.

With him in front of her and family from all over the country there to support them, she felt so much love and happiness.

The ceremony was charming and personal and included, heartfelt promises, communion, and favourite musical selections.

It was a Christian ceremony and one of the most Christ-centred I’ve been honoured to photograph.

The guests blew bubbles as the happy couple exited to the song “Blue Skies” in honor of Chris’s grandmother who had requested that song, but passed before the wedding day.

After the ceremony, we were able to get some amazing photos.

Some of our favourites were with the LOVE marquee. Jenna and Chris have an incredible love story and the sign seemed to be a representation of that.

The first dance, and the parent dances were so special. You could see the love in these relationships as beautiful music with personal meaning played.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Jenna and Chris made their sparkler exit to a Disney song, “I See the Light”.

They continued their fairytale in Jamaica on a fabulous honeymoon.

Beautiful Bride Jenna shares the couples love story and tells us about their planning and day…

How did you meet?

Well, we met the way many people in 2019 were meeting which is not something either of us had ever thought about.

But it was perfect, as we were in very different social circles and cities.

After our first date we were very rarely apart and joined our social circles together and quickly knew that this was the life we were both meant to be living and at the exact time that we were living it.

Our first dates were dinner and talks of travel and life joys followed with dates of wineries, corn mazes, and the hike that Chris knew for certain that he was head over heels in love.

Tell us about the Proposal…

So, in the midst of a pandemic Chris snuck away one afternoon to ask both of my parents if they would give him their blessing on asking me to marry him.

Then a month later he planned a hike to the same place that we had been on our first hike and he had invited my sister and her fiance along with his closest friend at which point I just thought we were all hanging out since we had been talking about getting together for a while.

Then in the middle of our hike we went out onto a large rock in a small stream to take some “photos” at which point Chris proposed!

I was 100% shocked and so overjoyed!

After we finished our hike, we went back to Chris’s house to celebrate at which point we had another surprise.

Both of our parents had driven up to have dinner with us to celebrate the occasion.

Since all restaurants were closed, Chris had arranged for a local restaurant owner of Feniccis to come and prepare dinner at his house for our families which was completely ready by the time we got home from the hike.

It was so nice to sit and celebrate with our parents.

Tell us about your wedding, and the inspiration for your rustic Pennsylvania Wedding day….

We wanted it to be a wedding that reflected our faith which is the guide to who we are and we wanted others to have the opportunity to share in that experience.

We were engaged in the woods so we wanted a similar background for our wedding day and the outside area at Stone Mill Inn is simply stunning.

There is a lot of natural beauty and space for people to spend time together which is what we were looking for in an outdoor space.

We wanted people to feel comfortable while also being able to share in our intimate and personal wedding experience that we created for our day.

We used slate blue as our colour palette for the bridesmaid dresses and grooms bowties.

Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?

Chris’s Aunt helped us with our table numbers and many signs which incorporated our woodsy decor.

We use the scripture of 1st Corinthians as signs going down the aisle. The ceremony site was so beautiful that we did not add much to it.

We used lanterns as table centrepieces along with candles and greenery.

We used a lot of Eucalyptus and white flowers for the bouquets and centrepieces.

Hanging on the arbor for the ceremony backdrop we used a simple white chiffon so that we did not distract from the natural beauty of the space.

Chris and Laura from Meadowbrook florist helped make the sweetheart table set up and surrounding absolutely perfect.

Tell us about any personal touches to the day…

I feel like our entire rustic Pennsylvania Wedding day was personalised. Chris had breakfast and lunch delivered to the venue for the bridal party while we got ready for the day.

Chris spent his entire day with his groomsmen and my dad. They had breakfast, played golf, had lunch and then were at the ceremony site for photos.

On arrival we had our first touch which was such a beautiful moment and then moving forward to the ceremony we personalised every piece of it.

For the guests, we planned all of the food in great detail as Chris is a self proclaimed foodie.

So we were very excited for the amazing hors d’oeuvres and sit down meal that Stone Mill Inn would provide.

We had a family friend play the piano for our wedding music and we chose all of the songs for as they each had a special purpose.

At the conclusion of the ceremony we had “Blue Skies” sung by the pianists’ daughter as our exit song.

This song was promised to Chris’s Grandmother before she passed away one year before.

Chris’s friend sang our first dance song and we personalised a lot of the music played for our reception.

We also celebrated the love of our wedding guests through an anniversary song which we played 3 different songs including my parents wedding song (married for 36 years) and we ended with my grandparents wedding song (married for 61 years) which was the longest of those in attendance at our reception.

Our DJ Burnie from Portable Soundz was so kind and considerate in helping us plan the music for the day. He met all of our needs and let the day flow brilliantly.

Ours sparkler exit was a blast too.

What was the most special moment of your wedding day?

Is all of it an acceptable answer? We had a first touch instead of a first look and holding hands brought a sense of calm to the day and our nerves.

We shared letters that we wrote each other, gifts that we had gotten each other and Chris took a moment to pray for the rest of our day.

It was truly a perfect start to our rustic Pennsylvania wedding day. Walking down the aisle was also an incredible moment because it was the start of the rest of our lives and our closest family and friends were there with us in the same space to celebrate our day with us!

We wrote our own vows and were able to share how special we are to each other, Chris even shared for the first time that he had written himself a note after one of our first few dates that he was going to marry me and he read that note during his vows.

It was just a testament to the beautiful love story that we have created together.

Our first dance was also incredibly special.

Chris’s great friend sang our first dance song “Stay With You” and it added a personal element that was special to us as we were able to dance with each, make each other laugh, be silly, and share intimately with each other how happy and exciter we were that our day was finally here!

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?

Do it together! Make it the day that you want it to be, allow others to help but always be the final decision makers as a couple.

This is the day that you will spend the most time planning, so make it your own, cherish the time planning, and then enjoy the day together!

Stay close and during the day take a step back and look at everyone that came to celebrate you and just realise how lucky you are to be loved by your now spouse along with your family and friends.

Make sure you get along with your wedding coordinator and site owner. Ours were the absolute kindest and most thoughtful people and we knew as soon as we met them that we were all meant to work together.

They met all of our needs and did more to make sure our day was the most incredible day we could have ever imagined.

Finally, if you did not get a videographer then make sure to ask someone to record your first dance, vows and any other important pieces to you.
