Today I am thrilled to share this stunning rustically inspired Christmas Wedding with pretty blush pink and burgundy details.

Maddie says of the couples Christmas Wedding day…
I had the pleasure of photographing Zoe & Darrell’s wedding at The Craven Arms in Appletreewick which has the most amazing cruck barn.
Being the 1st of December, the barn was decorated with a touch of festive cheer with mince pies, mulled wine & a tree which gave it a really cosy feel which perfectly suited Zoe & Darrell’s gorgeous styling..
I hand over to beautiful Bride Zoe to share her loves story…
How did you meet?
Darrell & I met in February 2013 whilst on a night out in Leeds – we just got chatting outside a bar whilst I was waiting for a friend to go home. We exchanged numbers and went on a date about a week later.
Tell us about the Proposal…
Darrell proposed on my 27th birthday (3rd November 2016) whilst we were on holiday in Iceland.
It was a rainy evening and our Northern Lights tour had been cancelled so we bought a pizza and some wine and spent the evening listening to music and talking.
Darrell put on ‘our song’ and proposed with the most beautiful antique opal and diamond ring.
Tell us about your Wedding Planning Journey…
Our planning journey was relatively straightforward as we knew we wanted something low-key and small.
We also knew we wanted a bit of free reign rather than a structured ‘set menu/set pricing’ type thing. It did leave our venue options pretty limited, but we found one pretty quickly and immediately fell in love with it.
We wanted our wedding to have a Christmas feel to it so got those little touches in – Christmas tree, mince pies, mulled wine & cider and handmade Christmas decorations as favours.
Darrell’s Mum also sadly passed away about 6 months before our wedding, so we made sure that we had lots of photos of her around the room.
Our theme was a rustic winter vibe with a colour palette ranging from blush pink to burgundy.
Apart from actually becoming husband and wife, the best part of the wedding was our first dance.
Darrell contacted the singer of our song (Goodnight Moon by Go Radio) and organised for him to record a personalised version of it.
It was truly amazing and a complete surprise. To see the look on Darrell’s face knowing he’d pulled it off was also priceless.
The group dance and singalong to Fairytale of New York towards the end of the evening is also something we’ll never forget.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
If we were to give any advice to others, we’d urge people to just do what they want to do and don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not supposed or allowed to do something.
You can do what you want, it’s your day.
