Today as we approach New Year and celebrate the last moments of the festive season I am thrilled to share this stunning seasonal Lancashire Wedding with aspects of red and gold.
Siobhan and Andy had a wonderful celebration encompassing the beauty of Christmas with their family and friends at Pendle Heritage Centre.
Images were captured by Kirsten Platt Photography.
Kirsten is a Lancashire based photographer living in the Ribble Valley happy to travel anywhere to capture those special moments.
She loves documenting your wedding story as the day unfolds.
She says of the couple…
I met Siobhan and Andy while photographing one of their friends weddings…and the following year was asked to do a maternity photoshoot.
A few years later I was honoured to be asked to photograph their wedding day now with their 2 children.
I hand over to beautiful Bride Siobhan…
How did you meet?
We met through teaching.
Andy was newly qualified as a physics teacher; I was training at the school he was working in to be an English teacher.
He claims he saw me and knew I was the one for him!
Tell us about the Engagement…
This story has a funny twist to it.
Andy planned to propose in the library at Lyme Park but it was too busy so he tried the cafe but it was raining so it was full.
He ended up proposing in the car!
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
I planned it all and didn’t find it stressful at all!
It was a DIY wedding on a shoestring budget as we have two children.
The wedding itself was less important than the children being happy.
What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?
We got married at Christmas and fully embraced the season for our seasonal Lancashire Wedding.
We went with red and gold as a colour scheme.
What was the best bit of your day?
Seeing my husband to be with our son and daughter; my husband’s speech.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
Don’t spend lots and lots of money – ours was under £4k, including my dress, and we had a wonderful time.
The more you spend, the higher your expectations.
