I hand over to stunning Bride Harriet…

How did you meet?

I met Rhys on Facebook on a car event forum.

I was really into cars, more like (obsessed) and he added me through a Facebook group.

He then sent me a message, we got talking, and from then on got to know each other.

He then showed me a car that he was getting imported from Japan!

I told him as soon as the car arrives he must come and show me it.

Days went passed, he arrives on my drive way with flowers.. in his new car.

We initially started as friends, then best friends  which then turned into my forever soul mate.

Tell us about the Proposal…

The proposal was everything I would of wished for.

We live in Devon which has some of the cutest towns you have ever seen, and by the time of the proposal we had been together for four years.

We was going out on New Year’s Eve to celebrate the amazing year we had in a little place called Appledore.

I got ready for the evening, while Rhys was sorting out my big surprise, packing a suitcase which I never knew about..

We get to the cutest, little pub which is on the sea front, get a drink and relax little to the live band, everyone was dancing and ready to celebrate the amazing year we have all had. It was 20 minutes to 12..

I decided to go outside to get some fresh air, Rhys followed and said we will go for a walk along the sea front.

Little did I know what was just about to happen.

The clock stuck midnight and Rhys got down on one and knee, and told me how much he loved me and that his heart will never beat alone again and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.

He asked me “ Will you marry me” without any hesitation I screamed “Yes”

I can’t explain to anyone that feeling you get when you know that you have met your match.

We then celebrated with all family and friends, then enjoyed a lovely wonderful evening in a gorgeous hotel room which was full of roses and petals everywhere with a lovely glass of champagne!

Tell us about your wedding planning journey …

Our wedding journey, now just where do I begin?

The organic plan was to go to a registry office and get married, then celebrate on the beach with a small bunch of friends and family.

Did that happen you ask? NO of course not!

Instead we fell in love with a place in Devon called “ The Old Barn” which was a do it yourself wedding venue.

When they say do it yourself, that means EVERYTHING from cutlery to glasses to drinks and food and decorations.

What was the theme of your Big Day?

I picked out the theme years and years ago and knew exactly what theme I wanted! Sunflowers!

Did you have any special touches / DIY?

I was adamant that I wanted to be adventurous too with how we celebrated our day, so we had lots of special touches

I hand made and crafted each and every single decoration I could think of doing, from a massive dream catcher to a sunflower wall, which was made from artificial sunflower heads I super glued on which took months, every night I would sit there glueing away!

As well as this we  had: bumper cars, Alpacas, coloured flares, bouncy cushion, a Doughnut wall, an Ice cream van, Candy floss champagne, a Popcorn machine, a caricaturist, and sparklers

It was my magical day and all that hard work was worth every second f the effort!

What was the best bit of your day?

Marrying my best friend. Also I have to say the our time with the alpacas!

Is there anything you would do differently?

Yes one they that I would do differently would be to have someone set everything up for me, as the day before I was getting married I set everything up with Rhys.

I would also get them to take all the decorations down because after my wedding day I had clear up the venue which was not fun!! As you could imagine!

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Don’t take things seriously have fun! It’s your day do what ever you want to do to make it your own unique special magical day!
